I like to have the tv on as I fall asleep. I'll wake up a few hours later to turn it off. Always forget to set the sleep timer

recording of an idling diesel engine

This. That. This. Nothing beats the sound of a big diesel idling for inducing a nap. My personal favorite is the sound from the 7.3 powerstroke.

If you like complete silence the sound recording of a 6.0 is the way to go. Chuckle chuckle.

I wish I would have been better educated about that sort of thing at a younger age. I didn't take it seriously.

Yeah. At least I don't really notice it unless the room is dead silent.

Hence why I'm the nerd at concerts that actually wears earplugs. It's all fun and games until your ears ring 24/7!

No. If there's dead silence, even the smallest bit of random sounds will jolt me awake.

I use a white noise machine.

My parents fricked up and got me a tv at 13. Can't go to sleep without noise.

Also slept like a Baby while the rig was laying down pipe. If you have been around this. It's loud!

I can sleep ANYWHERE as long as there's some background noise and preferably some air moving over me. I sleep outside a lot in the summers.

Not only do I need at least my ceiling fan running on its highest setting, but I need complete darkness. I grew up in the country where that was possible, however light always leaks through here and it kills me. I'd put aluminum foil on my window but I need the sunlight to help me wake up

Gotta have the fan running. Usually leave the TV on when I fall asleep and will turn it off sometime during the night.

My wife has to have a sound machine. Also our nursery is in our room so a noise machine helps mask movements in the room so our daughter does not wake up. For me, I have worked on the road for 17 years with at least 14 of those requiring overnight hotel stays. Add in two kids and I can sleep through anything. I can also just decide to go to sleep and be out 5 minutes later. I have slept 300' in the air on a cellphone tower while waiting on materials to be delivered. Talk about peaceful.

I like a fan too but I can also sleep in silence. Visited some friends in Kansas and slept in their basement in November. It was cold, completely dar,and completely silent. Slept incredible.
