At the end of the trip I’ll do a full post on the Outdoor Board. So far we got 24 snakes with 9 eyelash vipers.

I used to suffer from nightmares of waking up to find a cottonmouth in my room because we found a cottonmouth under the bed where I used to sleep in my old hunting camp. I had not had that dream in years. Then I read this thread yesterday and I had that dream twice last night. Each time I woke up suddenly throwing the covers all over the place and running out of the bedroom before I realized what was going on. So thanks guys.

This is the rhyme I was taught as a kid to discern what was/was not a coral snake:

“Red on black, venom lack. Red on yellow, kill a fellow.”

I check toilets before I’ll sit. I read some stories like this when I was young.

Same but I also lift the seat to make sure there isn’t a venomous spider under.

I don’t. Tell your wife about a spider biting someone on the arse while they were sitting on the toilet and she will never bitch about the seat being up again!

You either have to be very unlucky or a complete dumbass to get bit by a coral,

Yep. I've seen one in the wild and just kind of watched him slither through the grass for a while. They really are beautiful and it's very rare to see them. Almost all bites are due to handling a mis-identified snake.

Busy! Selling the Cedar Creek Lakehouse, getting the Frisco house ready for the market and buying a home on Lake Lewisville in Oak Point. Cleaning out 2 homes is just crazy work.

Sorry about the brown recluse! Did the tissue die? I have a small dimple from getting bitten by a brown recluse years again.

Sorry. At least you already lift the seat 1/2 the time.

that's a lot of work, I think w'ell be getting our place ready to sell before long too, I don' believe the tissue has died, maybe it's not finished? almost everyone else I know that's been bitten had some kind of scar because of the dead tissue, good luck with all of the transition(real estate )
