The oppressive communist state was already in place when Stalin took over, and he absolutely did not create any of their ideas.
Hitler created his oppressive government from nothing and used it to murder millions pointlessly. I know people love bringing up death counts that Stalin killed more than Hitler, but really communism killed those people, Stalin was just a willing arbitrator of it.
Germany would not have had the holocaust without Hitler

A friend’s grandpa had the first name Adolph. He was old in the 1980s, so he was probably named before Hitler became known. But he didn’t shy away from it. Had it on the mailbox.

Also, side note: Hitler had some American relatives. He had a half-nephew who wanted to get away from Germany when Hitler came to power. He moved to Long Island, and changed the family name. His last descendants are two aging brothers who live a block apart from each other on Long Island. Neither married or had children.
It is true. I know them.
But Newman is not even half Jewish. The dad is a trip. Just refuses to change family name. Real fun at a restaurant because he leaves his name for the reservations.

Stalin may have been technically worse death total wise but Hitler started the worse war in human history which makes him beat out Stalin
