My question is how. How did we do it? Was it improved public schools? Did the ever increasing number of charter schools factor in?

I hope this was intentional, but I also hope it's woefully ironic.

Look at the description. It looks like a gauge of reading and math recovery after covid19. Doesn't mean we're great at either but it is a positive for the state. Really seems to indicate just how damaging the government mandates were to education.
We need info on how we achieved thus so it can be continued.

No, but who wants their kids surrounded by that. Aside from the education part, who wants their kids’ cohorts being bussed in welfare. I tried a public kindergarten for my son bc it was a “great” school. 1st grade, he was moved to private. I noped out of there. My other child was already in private pre-k bc it was going to cost more to send her to public pre-k to subsidize all of the free kids. No.

Well you can only go so far down that regression towards the mean becomes an unstoppable force.
Congrats on hitting rock bottom Louisiana!

It doesn't have a city like L.A. in it?

What's this bullsheet, half the state (the half below Alexandria) can barely speak English.

Unfortunately this not the case any more, but the bar isn't that much higher. We can over come them and be ranked at 48th again. All you have to do is believe!

See Louisiana was low but not the lowest, Louisiana is moving towards middle of the pack. While still not great it is a huge improvement considering where they were a few years ago. If growth continues even small growth h it is a positive sign as you will never fix people caring about education. However, if you can break the cycle of 1 in 10 kids then you start seeing that real improvement.
You have to start somewhere at least, especially with the poverty level of the South, previous education levels, and demographics.
