Call DA office. Tell them that you will gladly pay it, but would like to avoid it going on your record. Every time that I have done that, they accepted the payment and reduced it to a non moving violation.

Said a few times but did it with my kid in St. Tammany with Article 894... alot of BS they make them do and not sure it did anything to avoid the insurance to go up.

In Lafayette Parish my son went through the same thing only no fine at all, but had to do X hours of community service for a non profit

Just drive Hwy 165 from I-10 to Monroe. Highest concentration of speed traps in the world.

Go tell them you know who killed Donna Arceneaux and you’ll talk if they fix it.

Have had a dozen speeding tickets and have zero on my record.
I always have called and said I will pay the fine, but is there anything I can do to keep it off my record.

When i was in monroe, i got several tickets. Never given a warning, lots of speed traps, absolute road pirates. Ive been in florida maybe 7 or 8 years now and i havent been pulled over once, and if i did, i garentee it would be a warning.
Don’t visit Naples. I once got a $230 ticket for an illegal U turn where it was night time, I couldn’t see the sign (since it wasn’t lit up) and I was doing Uber taking two passengers home in the back. And I was following the app’s directions.
Cop gets out and asks me if I knew what I was being pulled over for. I say no. I say I’m an Uber driver with 2 pax in the back. He says “What’s Uber?”…I thought for sure he was just gonna check to see if I’d been drinking and let me go with a warning. Nope. $230 ticket. Literally lost money working uber that night.

Are you people complete idiots? Call days office. Tell them to please let you pay but keep off insurance. 90% will let you do that.
If not, in court they will grant that to you...even before the court...grab assistant da handling and make that deal so they dont have to do more work

Son had single vehicle accident and totaled the vehicle. (Yes doing things 18 year olds do), wound up with a careless operation ticket. Livingston/Tangipahoa parish so it went through Scott Perriloux office.
It’s an online diversion class. Cost 150 I think. Took 20 mins. The whole thing was dismissed.
So for 20 mins, $150 bucks, it was over.

Ticket might be peanuts compared to the hike in insurance prems with it on his record. Could end up costing thousands over the next 5 years.

Tell him to bring his toothbrush with him to court.
