Jackie Harrelson was a fricking legend. Baw would take the fattest dips. Talking a hog’s leg in all day every day. Once saw him swallow a big MFer like it was nothing when one of the administrators came into our class. Hope that guy is well

I was just telling my wife yesterday that back in the late 70’s I had a Spanish teacher at Rummel named Doc Casariego. He was a medical doctor in Cuba before fleeing Castro, and being un-credentialed here in the States he was resigned to teaching Spanish.
He had two idiosyncrasies. If your shirt had two buttons unbuttoned he would say, “Son, are you trying to show us your hairy chest.” The Spanish pronunciation of “hairy” made it funny. And if you rested the toe of your foot on the chair leg in front of you he would point it out and make you pay five cents “to the missions”.
Doc seemed like a very good man.

Baton Rouge ghetto here! Redemptorist class of 83, Mrs. Williamson, English. First day of school we thought she was a new student. American Indian and a smoke show. Made me enjoy English class
