Family increasing from $19.99 to $21.99.

I have the family plan. I got the notification text from my bank that it auto drafted about an hour ago for $21.59. That’s what it’s been for a while now. I guess next month it will be a little over $2.00 more. Still worth it to me. I have my own personal playlist that’s 93 hours and 18 minutes long, all commercial free. Plus I listen to podcasts and audiobooks.

Spotify is still the best for me. Prime music seemed like everything was a cover song. Not the original artist. Try to listen to jimmy Buffett and it’s a new country bad cover. Mariah Carey does home sweet home by motley crew. Screw that.

Yeah. When I found out I get Amazon Music for free as part of our Prime membership, I looked into it. Didn’t seem worth dropping Spotify.

I had/have Amazon prime .. gets repetitive.. lots of stuff not on it.. for my car and Apple Pay I used tune in for free steaming stuff.. I found it pretty good.. I did not upgrade and took the occasional commercial.. I do not mind commercials.. especially on long trips.. but finally broke down and got Spotify to address all needs.. car.. house .. out walking.

Can you still get Amazon Music free with a prime membership ?

Yes. But you can only stream one device at a time.

i agree with you that this was always the plan. i also agree with you that it is annoying, especially with the video streaming services that the prices keep going up and the content stays relatively the same.

I’ve had prime for a long time and the selection and shows they put out has become a shite load better.

You also have the channel add ons if you want so you can have it all in one app instead of switching apps. That wasn’t a thing at first.

And content streaming in 4k. They have definitely upgraded the service.

NPR and independent radio have few commercials also.
The commercials they do have are usually local mom and pop places.

All audiophiles know to go with local files or Qobuz anyway. Tidal is also good.

But youll spend 150 a month on nicotine and 25 a week on coffee/energy drinks.

For us that use the free version, I have noticed they've ncreased the frequency of advertisements for the last 5 months or so. I used to be able to go a good 7 or so songs in a row without an advertisement being played but now it usually happens every 3 or 4 songs.

And full of ads and music I dont want to listen to.

Spotify lets me pick a type of music or make my own play lists, and fast forward to another song whenever I want.

Radio is dying, like the newpapers did.

To me it's still worth it. It and Youtube premium are my favorite subscriptions. Netflix and zhBO are the ones i think about dropping. Already dropped peacock and hulu.

It obviously is (don't know why this is news). The issue isn't the price increase; if most of us actually talked the real issue, it'd be the musicians aren't getting the raise, or getting enough to begin with.

especially Delilah
No love lost here for that awful voice. But, back in the day, I spent a summer in Montreal. Summer ended, and I started a road trip from Quebec to BRLA. We left late evening with plans to drive as far as possible, likely Dayton.

Anyway, after spending 3 months among our brothers to the frozen north, we crossed the border and soon had the radio tuned to whatever local (US) channel was nearby. And that channel had Delilah, which was somewhat nice. Still annoying as ever but refreshing as pretty much the only English we heard that entire summer.

This was pre-smartphone and even pre-XM radio. We had some few national TV channels with English, but the French immersion was pretty widespread where we were.
