re: Stolen Land Acknowledgment On My Kid's Syllabus

My son just graduated with a degree in journalism and media. I routinely received phone calls from him ranting about receiving assignments having to write papers on movies he described as gay pornography. He said basically every class was an indoctrination on how the American white heterosexual male was evil. Everything is about race and the alphabet soup gender sexuality causes in college now. It bothered him so much that he decided to forgo his job offer and teach high school for a while to make a difference and attempt to change what is being taught in schools now. He begins a program next month to earn his masters along with a teaching certification in history and English to hit the root cause.

Tell your son I said 'thank you' and that I think he's a hero. I mean that.
The war ahead of us will be one of ideas and one of collective will, and the enemy won't only be hostile foreigners abroad but will be within our own ranks in virtually every institution. Right now they are kicking our arse, so we just need more people like your son to join in the resistance.

And hilarious, coming from one of the most deeply racist countries on earth.

We fought the savages and they lost.

"It pisses me off when modern Americans, who have never had to face unsubjugated savages, morally condemn the much tougher men who wrested this continent from them, the men whose blood and sweat purchased the long and enervating peace in which fantasies about noble savages and white guilt could grow unchecked." - Michael Polignano

I mean, the part you bolded is pretty accurate

...and the Indians were no different. That's what these stupid people don't seem to realize. "Indigenous peoples" were conquering, murdering, raping, and enslaving each other long before the evil European colonizers arrived in North America.

The lack of logic in the original bit is horrific for a math class.
No way, no how that many Indian tribes controlled land at the same time. They killed each other. Often. Then enslaved each other often.
The noble indigenous man riding his mighty steed across the land. Nonsense. Only after the Spanish brought horses across the Atlantic did the natives have a beast of burden other than their women. Wheels? ha. Primitive metal work? Ha. Now knapping flints was where they excelled. And Working hides.

I suppose the professor doesn’t know those Indian tribes killed each other and stole each other’s land as well.

You mean the same Chinese who basically said kill any female babies born and only keep the male babies. Who enacted family size laws to persuade parents to get rid of their girl babies.
Remember The Tiananmen Square protests or the Tiananmen Square Incident, commonly known as the June Fourth Incident

Don't American Indians deserve some responsibility for lossing land?

My answer to every test question would be:
Math is an invention and exploitation by European white males to oppress women and people of color.

It will not just be a war of ideas IMO
The ideas are controlled by one side, the other side will have no choice but to resort to violence to have their voices heard unfortunately. It will reach a breaking point eventually. The two groups live in completely different realities that are irreconcilable.

No one today had anything to do with that shite. People did what they did because they were people of their time. What the frick can anyone do about it?
It surprises me that college enrollment numbers are still as high as they are. There are certain fields you have to have a college degree for (engineering, teaching, accounting/finance, lawyers, and several others I can't think off at the moment), but anything beyond that there is no reason to attend college.
For a lot of people, they go to get "the college experience" and I understand that, but long term there are a lot of people who would be better off going to a tech school and while in school get a job in the field of interest.. Get some experience and that is worth more than a college degree IMO (unless its the fields in which you need a degree).
These universities should not decide on how to present information. Provide the information. When it comes to history, maybe assign two different books that presents it in two different ways.. but they are not getting paid to shape people's views.
