The statue, depicting the former president on horseback while flanked by a Native American man and a black man, has stood at the museum’s entrance since 1940, the New York Times reported.

Not trying to be insensitive but if he the indian and the black man were not there then it would be OK???

99.9% chance this guy had no idea this statue existed prior to this post.

I'm against this action, but apparently it's been controversial for years due to the statue itself, not Teddy.

Its not an anti Teddy thing.

I think it has more to do with the Native American and black guy beside him in the statute
But hasn't the statue of limitations expired?

or was it removed?

He was really progressive for his time and led all black infantrymen into combat during the Spanish american war...and hes being posthumously branded a racist by millenials who really believe the civil war was all about slavery. frick them. My favorite president

Yep. There is no line where they stop. They will continue crushing everything that doesn’t fit their agenda now or in the future.

good thing Robin Williams isn't alive.

He'd be cancelled for playing him in a movie.

So horse ownership is bigoted?

Point being that people can find reason to be offended by nearly anything

Well colonialism happened and it wasn’t always pretty. It’s a disservice to shield people from historical realities because it hurts their feelings.

As opposed to you idiots who will say slavery had nothing to do with it. The fact that you are cut from the same cloth as the people your panties are in a wad about cracks me up

Having the black guy walking barefoot and nude while barely covered is probably a bad look as well
