I've been slacking the last 3 weeks, I took the pictures but got busy and didn't post them.

May 24th Chopard Mille Miglia GT weird AR makes it impossible to get a decent shot

May 31 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 5150

[/img]

Today Radiomir 1940 Chronograph Platino PAM518 they used a Minerva NOS cal. 13-22 from Minerva movement.

Stock pic of movement

All these pictures suck and I would have retaken them if I had posted them when I was actually at work and could have easily retaken them. I need a better phone.

Haha, nah. It’s not what you make, it’s how you spend it I guess.

I haven’t owned a vehicle in over 10 years after going to grad school up north. So instead of Tahoes and side-by-sides / golf carts, my money has gotten spent on watches and now I’m getting into guitar…

I don't know. I just like what I like. I have been a Paneristi since the Pre-Vendome days and had several A serial watches. I sold those when the prices skyrocketed. The 518 is really a watch that can stand on its own it is by far my most special Panerai and arguably the best finished movement they have ever made. I am also a bit of a contrarian by nature and have more Panerais in my accumulation than any other brand but I also have a Hublot just because but the majority of my accumulation is what most would consider chalk.

Not exactly the purpose of this thread, but both Roland Garros champs (Ifa Swiatek for ladies and Carlos Alcaraz for the gents) are Rolex ambassadors- for their trophy hoists Iga was wearing solid 18K Ladies DJ in Everose and Carlos YG Daytona on Oysterflex strap. Both outstanding choices.

1947 Turler double signed JLC. It is surprisingly large for the time period at 38.5 mm. It makes a perfect dress watch although I like to dress it down with jeans. It has some patina on the dial but I love the character. It is around 4 seconds slow a day, which is incredible for an almost 80 year old watch. The number and hands are gold but have darkened to an almost rose gold over the years. It has a bubble acrylic glass which I try my best to keep scratch free. None of my watches are safe queens.

Turler was a Swiss jeweler on the level with Tiffany and would double sign certain watches. This is by far my most horologically significant watch IMO. I purchased on eBay from a reputable dealer a couple of years ago and have subsequently had it authenticated.

I may have a picture of the movement from when I last had it serviced, I can try to find.

Happy Friday!

That’s a cool vintage piece, thanks for sharing.

I’m guessing your seller probably couldn’t provide info on the provenance, but it would be interesting to know more about the life it’s lived.
