One of the hidden benefits of moving to Utah. I see about 90% less fats on a daily basis.
Of course if you go into your local Walmart, you will see more fatties.
What you do see is just about every other vehicle has a bike rack. Most people ride out here.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending the food stamp program and all the waste that comes with it. I’m just saying people shouldn’t bitch about food stamp waste if they’re morbidly obese and planning on government dollars to provide their medical care as they age.

When the problem is this widespread, it feels fair to ask what systematic factors are in place that are leading to such a consistent failure to be healthy.
Several things.
1) Advancement of technology
- Hop in/out of a car to travel
- Entertainment now is on TV or Video games instead of biking around the neighborhood or playing outside for young kids
- Jobs that allow people to never even have to get out of their house or leave a chair for 8 hours
2) Woke Culture
- plus sized models
- Body positivity
3) Inflation/Poor education
- People are not taught how to eat. They are fooled into thinking junk food is cheap because they see a bag of chips for $4 that has a 6-12 month shelf life vs 4-5 apples for a similar price that will go out in less than a week
-Fatty cuts of meat are cheaper than lean cuts. 80/20 ground beef vs 90/10 or 93/7.
- White bread cheaper than sourdough or an healthy alternative

I spend at least 3 hours per day reading and learning. That leaves 37 hours.

That's fair, but I make a good living working from the neck up in the AC, spend every night in my own bed, have a beautiful wife (no pics), two great kids, a large home, a few dogs, new truck, great family and a few good friends.
If that's the life of a fat nerd, I'll take it.

We’re all 6’3, 200 and can bench 400 and run a 4.4 40.

Who remembers Heart attack Grill in Vegas. A staple of American gluttony.

living in the south its gross. The Mexican and Black population is over 70%. Try going to New Orleans, Birmingham, Atlanta or Memphis. Its nothing but obese minorities
The most amazing thing about Mexicans is they do hard labor work 12 hours a day 6 days a week and are still built like that. Their diets must be horrible but I hear they basically worship Coca-Cola.

I disagree. Surely it is not the greatest of our concerns. But to say it is our least is equally absurd.
In our unparalleled prosperity, we have devised a system in which we all collectively pool our resources to protect against health ailments. Meaning unconstrained gluttony functionally amounts to an exploitation of the good will of others. When you knowingly partake in actions that significantly degrade your health, you are functionally imposing a cost on the collective sum of the rest of humanity.
If you alone were doing this, it wouldn’t be an issue, we could handle it. But when everyone does it, the whole system collapses under its own weight, making everyone worse off. Meaning this is a collective action problem, and collective action problems are never “the least of our worries”. To the contrary, they are exceedingly difficult to navigate.

There’s no excuse to be fat when you can take ozempic and not stuff your face every day

fat people fall for quick fixes like avoiding carbs. My BIL is 350lb and is always on a low carb diet and i swear hes fatter every time I see him.
He thinks hes doing it right. Most people still dont realize its calories in vs calories out, regardless of how many carbs you eat. Its always been that way and always will be. Cant change physics.
