theists are definitely more anti-atheist than the opposite.

so much so that they have made it part of their religions to try to convert others rather than let others think freely how they wish.

The justification derives from their belief that having faith is a sign of low intelligence. Their belief system (atheism is its own religion) is based around reasoning and evidence which makes religion seem completely alien to them.
