The build-up to a trip is like December 23 to a kid.

Banff Alberta

I'm envious. Went 30 years ago, found Banff a little touristy but Lake Louise and driving up to Jasper was one of the travel highlights of my life

Are you going with or without young kids? If the former. I agree with you. If the latter, then you are currently living my life.

Wife is yelling at everyone while trying to cram 3 weeks worth of clothes for a 3 night trip into as few suitcases as possible. Kids are lobbying to pack clothes they forgot they had until tonight. Why wouldn’t you need two fleece jackets…in Florida…in July? They’ve also decided crap they haven’t played with in 3 years are a “must haves” on the plane. Of course we need a planner notebook, from 2020, to map out our daily schedule. How else will we know when to eat? And God forbid I think I need to take an extra polo shirt. “We have limited room in the suitcase”!!!…as the fourth pair of shoes gets crammed in.

Enjoy your Zen!

Everything packed, leaving at 8:30 for airport.

Explain this to my wife. We are always scrambling.

You're not worried about that thing you forgot to pack?

This sounds like me. One time I planned a Christmas trip with extended family to Paris. Thought everything was well-planned out, but an overnight storm caused a power outage--disabling all of our alarms. The next morning was a madhouse as everyone scrambled to get to the airport on time. The worst part was that we actually forgot our son, who we sent to the attic to sleep because he and his older brother got into it at dinner. Oh, the mischief my son got into while home alone!

This is an under valued night in my life. I love vacations. Whether it be to Destin or home to Colorado or tomorrow to Banff Alberta.

Funny you posted this, I happen to be moving lo Lakewood Colorado in the morning. Never even been there before in my life. Kinda nervous but I’m sure it’s better than living around the shreveport / bossier city area.

No reason to be nervous. You will love Colorado! Politics is questionable. But Colorado is an amazing place to live

The same job in shreveport pays about 10$ an hour

I fricking hate the day before vacation. My wife can’t make decisions and packs too much. It’s always a shitshow getting out the door.

I can travel for a month with less luggage than my wife needs for a long weekend.

For a week or longer I pack enough underwear and socks to have fresh every day, the two pairs of shorts one pair of pants and three shirts I know I will wear, meds DO and toothbrush, and I am done. Takes ten minutes. For the same trip my wife will take at least a dozen pairs of shoes and half the clothes she owns, and she will pack and repack ten times over the week prior to leaving.

I’ve never understood this. I’m always like, do you plan on shitting yourself twice a day or something? Rarely goes over well.

I’m having to try to fit enough clothes to live ina different state for multiple years in two suitcases. One being a duffle bag that I’m hoping can be a carry on. They tried to charge me 800$ last time I tried to fly with 4 or 5 suitcases to help someone move

Sorry, I guess I thought you were trolling.
I’m trying to figure out if you are the worst painter out there if you were only making $10 an hour. That just doesn’t seem correct
