What if you could get ahold some old blueline prints? You haven't lived till you stood next the blueline copier. The ammonia smell probably is a life shortening environment.

Real plans would be cooler

The LSU library might have the originals.

Tiger Stadium was built in phases. So there isn’t a set of prints of the whole stadium.
Originally it was just the east and west lower sideline stands.
Then the north end zone was constructed giving a horseshoe look.
The South stands were added to form the lower bowl.
An upper deck on the west with a small club area was added.
After that the east upper and suites were built.
Following that the original west upper was demolished and replaced by the current west upper with club levels and a new press box.
Finally the south upper with club seating was added.
Besides the football area back of house areas were added and subtracted. You had dorms, football offices, athletic dept. offices, weight rooms, training rooms, an auditorium, meeting rooms, and other spaces added and subtracted over the years.
There aren’t drawings of the whole thing.

I did a hell of a lot of this early on in my career…the MSDS doesn’t say so, but I am sure I}breathing that crap isn’t good for you. I used to feel like I had a hangover on the way home from work from breathing that shite some days.

I have drawings of the whole thing, we have to for our yearly inspections. Even things that were removed are documented on demo plans.

Life safety drawings that were created when?

Same. The anhydrous ammonia then became a regulated item and had to be locked down. Understood it was for meth production.
Nothing like a papercut from that yellow paper or being lightheaded after running 200 copies in an afternoon.

That's some basic arse blue prints.

designed the North Stadium and South Stadium
Why did the South Stadium have to be designed so differently from the rest of the entire stadium? Why couldn't they save money on the design and basically just "flip" the North Stadium blueprints to have the structures in both end zones match? Standards couldn't have changed all that much in 20 years.

I think that you just skipped a step. Weren't the original east and west sideline stands expanded and extended upward when the Works Progress Administration funding for dormitory buildings was used on the backside of the stands?

Generally there would be overlays of the new plans on top of the old plans. The old plans may not be structural, but they give a good idea of what's there now and how it ties into the new construction.

Just life safety? I'd have to dig around but it appears they combined a lot of that info in the arch sheets in the 20s.
I just realized how disorganized our files are but I stumbled across an SD set that Hays Town did for closing the South bowl.

Man, it would be awesome if you could post some structural drawings of the stadium.

Looking to upgrade the office wall art
Get the Art of Words picture of Tiger Stadium. It's a picture drawn with every football score from the first ever game through 2019. It's cool as hell, and looks great framed on a wall. My doctor had one in one of his rooms, and I will eventually grab one and put it in my office.
This is the print:

I would love to but I can't risk our relationship with LSU. I'll try to see if I can find some in the state archives to post.
ETA: That site sucks, I can't find shite.
Here's a screencap from the Hays Town drawings.
