Bad news like it's not the direction you want it to trend, but there is only so much this storm can do with a day or so left at its current state.

meh... I was more or less making a terrible joke

but a cyclone tightening means it's getting better organized and could start to strengthen

Bad news like it might make a run up to minimal hurricane but more likely strong TS vs a weaker storm. Going to run out of time for much more.

Looks very good on sat.

One more day and Texas would have a big problem on their hands. It has that look of a storm getting ready to pop off and good conditions ahead. Looking forward to recon here soon to see what's actually going on under the hood.

Pressure down to 1003, no TS winds yet though but there will be soon I'm sure.

Sunset visible satellite imagery shows #TD8 beginning to show signs of "structured" convection, meaning that deep convection is beginning to curl around the center, perhaps the first steps in the development of an inner core. This is another sign that strengthening is occurring.

Hurricane Hunters are starting to find 30-34 kt winds at flight level

may be the 1st time since the planes have flown in this storm they've found winds that high at flight level I believe

I've lived a full life even went through two 7+ earthquakes in a day in SoCal during the Summer of '92. Rather weird looking outside and seeing freakin concrete streets rolling like ocean swells. Actually felt like a short roller coaster ride with a shuddering end.
