I don’t think so as long as he proves his life was in danger. You can watch someone drown and it’s perfectly legal to do nothing if it would put your life in danger to help them.

If there's a reasonable explanation and he is not responsible (she killed herself, he just left, accident) then the lawyers will generally get ahead of it and say that, or try to get their client to help so they can get their version of events out there.
That isn't happening here. They are saying nothing. So...
I don't know if that happens as often as you think with these national cases.
Mark O'Mara never released a statement obo Zimmerman, for example. They just let it play out and did a standard self defense trial.
Did Baez do it for Casey Anthony? I don't think so.

Where do the two girls murdered in Utah fit into all this then? Obviously it’s possible they’re unrelated but I find it highly unlikely.

Lets say he killed her in self defense. She was being aggressive on a ledge and to keep from falling, he pushes her and she either falls off the ledge or she hits her head on a rock
Seems like that video of her admitting to hitting him will help his case as now there is a history of "violence"

I'm actually really interested in what someones legal responsibility is in this case
Lets say he killed her in self defense. She was being aggressive on a ledge and to keep from falling, he pushes her and she either falls off the ledge or she hits her head on a rock
What is his responsibility now when it comes to notifying authorities. Does he have any?
That depends on the jurisdiction and their statutes/case laws. Why it's hard for me to respond.
This is probably federal jurisdiction and I have no idea what the legal standards are for these situations. I imagine the 9th circuit does have some case law on when you must render aid, etc. Federal law isn't typically as detailed with things like murder b/c 99.99% of all murders are state crimes.

So will he be extradited to Utah to answer questions since he is a person of interest?

Not legally. Morally.

Again, jurisdictional issue and I have no clue what evidence/facts they have or the state laws involved.
If it's federal, they can send FBI anywhere in the US to ask him questions. If it's state-based, until they arrest him they can't extradite him. Sometimes they will be permitted to go to another jurisdiction to try, pre-arrest. It's likely they won't incur the expenses b/c he's not saying anything and has an attorney.

Also after watching that video he says numerous times that he tries to distance him self and suggest that they each take a walk in separate directions to cool off.....
Maybe he said this one too many times and she flipped or maybe they did separate and go their separate ways and he left her...
But how did he end up with her phone to send that text on Aug 30th...if in fact he sent that text

Doesn't even have to do that since burden of proof is on he prosecution.
If she walked off like he said, there's no downside to cooperating. If he knows she is dead, he's lying.

And it’s suspicious that the text says “no service” as in “don’t expect me to talk to you for a while”
Trying to give himself time to get back home and get lawyered up and it bought him 10 days.

Also has shown that people who have already made their minds up will bend reality to fit in with that belief pattern (see: Youtube video comments)
Well, that's naturally going to happen when a guy returns from a cross-country trip without his girlfriend, doesn't say a word about what happened or where she might be to anyone wanting to know while lawyering up immediately.
Now, she might have become unstable and jumped off a cliff, she might have accidentally died, she might have said she wanted to run away and have no one know of her whereabouts, etc. But when the only person she was with doesn't say a word to help authorities, you naturally think that person has something to hide (even if the person may not be guilty of harming anyone).

Won't the phone service be able to figure out the location of her phone when that text was sent and before?

As immoral as people are these days, that’s pretty fricked up to just leave someone and not say shite. A lot of people that murder loved ones go to the authorities and at least make up a story. That’s what’s so weird about this is that he hasn’t said shite and she could have been completely eaten by wildlife by now.

Yeah, thats why I know he's lying. No one is that fricking irresponsible.

I believe the police report states that the girl had to climb through one of the van windows bc he locked her out and was worried he would leave her.
If he tried that before its not too farfetched to think he would follow through again.

He may not have killed her but he definitely left her for dead...after watching the first 15 min I have a feeling he cracked and just kicked her out and locked the door and rolled out..
Or he pushed her off a cliff.....literally.

Does anyone know how old Brian is? I’ve yet to see his age posted but haven’t searched much. Just find it intriguing it’s not out in the open like her age
After watching the body cam footage... yikes.
GP maybe offed herself.
