you have to credit the US military for the lethality.

0 civilians killed
0 US Troops lost
0 Planes or helicopters down
0 Marine assets sunk
1 President captured.

All in 2 hours with no warning and in the middle of the night.

This is why the comparisons to Bush are ridiculous. Id like to see the price tag for this op vs the one to oust Saddam.

Spankum: MacAfee pop up, change your browser for Safari to Chrome. Seems like Tigerdroppings and Safari have been infiltrated with malware.

Someone doesn't like that people are pointing out the hypocrisy of the MAGA movement. Trying to shut this thread down

Cuba has nothing to offer us. Venezuela has money and they have oil. Those two things make them a valuable commodity that the Chinese and Russians were attempting to exploit at the expense of the United States. The Monroe Doctrine thus applies in this particular situation. Cuba, while a communist government with ties to foreign regimes, has nothing to offer the world but tobacco.

No, no. The edge lords are correct. There is never a legitimate use of American military power in their eyes. Just because there were errors and wrongful uses of it in the (recent) past, that obviates any and all uses of it in the future. Get with the program.

How do you not understand the actual law? You don’t like it, fine. Write your congressman. This action is 100% legal and supported by laws passed by Congress.

love how nobody in the cult can respond to the hypocrisy charges. The talking points have been issued obviously

Maduro was a squatting dictator who lost the last election. The EU and US don’t recognize him as their president. He has become a totalitarian and threatened annexation of neighboring Guyana and led a mass famine and refugee crisis.

To get him out of power with this precision and minimal collateral damage is a massive win for Donnie. Anyone who disagrees just doesn’t know what’s going down in Venezuela.

I will try to sum this up for some of yall…
I have worked with some Venezuelan folks in the oil industry and have a few friends from church who have family from there. The people overwhelmingly wanted this guy gone. He ran the country into the ground.
He has allowed Hamas, Iran, China, and Russia to set up operations in the country.

Venezuela stole billions of private oil company assets. They took over any private business and drove the owners out of the country.
Trump has given this guy several chances and then plenty of warning to step down.

The military build up and attacking drug boats was the strategy to continue to pressure the scum bag to step down and let the people there decide who there president will be.

As for oil, we aren’t going to go take it. We don’t need oil that bad. The plan will be to let private companies, both US and foreign owned, go back in and get back their assets and set up their operations like they used to have.

The vice president of the president who was forcibly extradited to the US for drug trafficking and weapons charges is looking for sympathy for his regime that's on the way out.

Will wait for confirmation from legit sources. This is like believing statistics from that Gaza hospital that was owned by terrorist affiliated groups.

Congratulations to the Venezuelan people!!!

I bet their immigrants, like the Cubans, would be voting Republican.

On a side note, is this legal? Just curious.

Venezuela isn’t waking up this morning as a functioning democracy.

Either we leave the country and let them figure it out or we nation build.

Neither option is particularly attractive, although unlike the shite holes of Iraq and Afghanistan there are a lot of educated, young, freedom loving Venezuelans in exile who want their country to be a democracy with great ties to the US to potentially be a successful rebuild.

I agree. My whole point was if this were anyone else from Clinton to Biden and everyonein between, the cult would be crying. It's true. And now the cult is trying to act like they care about Venezuela and it's citizens? I recall statements like 'shite hole," and " why should we care about 3rd world countries?". There's a reason the hard-core MAGA movement is viewed as a cult. They're fricking hypocrites who follow Donnie's moves no questions asked

It’s amazing to me this sort of thing wasn’t done at the end of the Cold War when the USA had the political will to run roughshod over the world and turn the hemisphere into a resource extraction colony. This is where Greenland fits in, controlling global choke points.

Though I’m skeptical if that’s actually the plan, since this goal of the administration is to look tough, masculine, whatever.
