You can laugh all you want, but war with the Soviet Union was indeed a genuine fear in 1962. If we had gone back on our word and invaded Cuba after the Missile Crisis, the Soviets had an entire army group ready to attack Berlin and West Germany. In exchange for leaving Cuba and no longer providing military assistance, we told the Soviets that we would never try to topple Castro's government ever again. Both sides (outwardly) kept up their end of the bargain until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

I don't even know what this means. I think you are overthinking it quite frankly. These people had to go and it was done in the most immaculate manner
Muh deep state. Some people cannot fathom thinking past whatever simplistic conspiracy theory is being peddled at the moment.
The world is a lot more complex.

I’m aware that war with the Soviets was real. The Soviets have been dead for 35 years and has no bearing on why we are currently going after Venezuela - because Monroe Doctrine and Russia/China according to you - but not Cuba.

You do realize every situation is different right? We realized that Venezuela was a real threat and that China had made them a priority and a Vassal state to undermine us.
And we got rid of them quite easily.
Cuba does not have the resources Venezuela does, and really isn’t much of a threat of anything.

Fear mongering using simple lies works on simple people.

Didn’t we just watch 20 years of nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan? Taking out the regime is easy, we have the best military in the world, it’s what comes next that is the problem.

Our military is sitting at home watching Saturday morning cartoons? How is this any way similar to last time?

Outside of WWII, we have we ever ‘liberated’ a country and it worked out? More illegal war by another President. It’s tiring. American first!

Lots are already there. I have 5 Venezuelan friends whom I've met through my international work that now live legally in the US. One I brought over with me for work. All of them are great guys.

Then you should also be aware that Cuba is a non-entity who relied on Maduro to continue propping up their government/economy. Maduro in turn was relying on China and Russia to prop up his government/economy.
Cuba has nothing to offer us. Venezuela has money and they have oil. Those two things make them a valuable commodity that the Chinese and Russians were attempting to exploit at the expense of the United States. The Monroe Doctrine thus applies in this particular situation. Cuba, while a communist government with ties to foreign regimes, has nothing to offer the world but tobacco.

It brought in millions of Somalis and Middle Easterners.
So I guess it worked out for them.
