What is an S grade?
Usually defined as “superior”, but it’s from Japan and bled into gaming culture, so I don’t actually remember what it was supposed to stand for. All that really matters is that S-Tier is the top tier, with A second, etc.

These lists are always dumb because it is completely subjective. If your name is Jessica and you like making tik toks and going to edm concerts on the weekend, you'll love Miami in NYC.
If your name is Leroy and you like drinking Miller Lite and watching college football, you'll want to kill yourself in NYC or Miami.

Surely this is something like a "best cities to visit" list, because there is no way it is about being the best to live in

What happened to Charlotte? I lived there years ago and it was a great city.

New Orleans has major issues, but I'd rank it over Los Angeles too.
There should be a special super tier for places like Bogalusa and Clinton that are clearly a cut above everywhere else on earth.

How can they leave Houston off of this list, it's the 4th largest in the country?!?!?
I appreciate Houston; used to live there. It's basically 5XL version of East Baton Rouge which has its pluses and minuses. Houston is awesome in some ways (food, COL, economic growth, infrastructure upward mobility) and terrible in others (weather/humidity, politics, crime, justice system).
It's like the default big sunbelt city to me but with awesome food and reasonable costs of living. People love to hate it for being generic, but that's a product of rapid growth for 50 years. No other way to support that rapid growth without big, generic suburbs unfortunately.
I'd rather San Antonio, Phoenix, Austin, Fort Worth, etc. But Houston is top shelf in the country for upward mobility and relative costs of living for metro areas that size. It's kind of cool how Houston has so many transplants from Louisiana, the rest of Texas, Mexico, the middle east etc. It's created a really cool town for restaurants.
Also I'd take Chicago over New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, or San Francisco......except for winters.

Charlotte in F tier is comical.

It’s getting a bit overcrowded with transplants now (like a lot of the Carolinas) but nowhere near an F city.

Nothing. It's not A tier by any stretch, but solid B tier. Lots of good banking jobs, things to do within 1.5 hours of city center, gold beer scene, ect.

Terrible list. Miami is vastly overrated if you aren't looking to party. Chicago way too low. NOLA too low based on whatever weird criteria the cities ahead of it are ranked (seems to be about partying). No San Francisco or Denver or Phoenix. LA and Charlotte being at the bottom are about the only things that check out.

It is the most diverse city in the United States, I have people from England, New Zealand, Philippines, Germany, Chile, Mexico, Spain and Argentina (I am sure I am missing some) within my block in the suburbs.
