I'm not ordering food on a Saturday from 9-10am though either. I'd be ordering food on work days where there's not enough time in the day to get food unless I want to cut into my work time or my home time

So you work in such a remote location where getting food takes 45 minutes or you work through lunch every day? Because if you aren't making more money by working through lunch than the Waitr fee is irrelevant.

I work with people like that and they can frick right off. They send me meeting requests for 11:30 and I decline them every time

I'll typically have about 5 places that are good at take out, I know the menu, and the food is a good substitute for cooking. Usually it's a local place and the bar handles take out pretty quick. BR has a lot of restaurants around the overpass and midcity. I can't eat fast food any more unless in a pinch.

We used to eat at 11am in LA. It's 11:30am here. Apparently that is breakfast for some people up north! They think lunch is 12:30pm. Fk that, I am starving by then!!

I've blocked my calendar off indefinitely from 11:30-12:30 but some people don't pay attention to that I guess

Part of the contract restructuring, restaurants can no longer charge one price on the menu and a different one on Waitr. This is the one issue i have with the new contract.

I do it every day

I mean more for dinner getting off of work. I don't do Waitr for lunch. Sure, I sometimes have food at home and sometimes can settle for McDonald's, Wendy's, or Cane's nearby. I'm not doing Waitr every night or anything like that. But on weekdays there's not really much time after work and driving anywhere else takes more than just 15 minutes. So Waitr is convenient and valuable to me.

Gotcha. I'm not trying to be an a-hole. Just simply arguing that Waitr is a convenience for most and they wouldn't be losing money by not using it.

When people ask when I am free, I growl and say "Not at 11:30" then I purr because you catch more flies with honey. Don't mess with my lunch!!!

Seriously, going out to eat has gotten more cumbersome. I think it is because I live in a seasonal place, the servers are treated like shite and don't care, know they will make bank during season and starve in the summer, but deal with Canadians (from Canada) and the elderly when they might make some money. Eating at home and paying a premium is just more enjoyable. Plus, I can play on TD.com

Yep. I hate when people mess with mine. And I bring mine most days and just get out of the office for a bit

Nah, I don't think you're being an a-hole. And yeah, I don't disagree with you and my first post was kind of a snap reaction to what the other guy was saying about it being a waste.

I mean, sometimes I do use it because I'm lazy. Not gonna lie. But that's my girlfriend's fault more than anything, her wanting to stay in on weekends

But there really are a lot of times where it makes more sense to pay X dollars to have Waitr delivered instead of leaving work earlier and missing out on 2X dollars so I can pick up food
I'd rather just have some college kid bring it to me

Stop paying losers money to pick up your food and get it yourself! Problem solved!

This is such a funny OT response.

I suppose I am rich with time. Sounds better than being chained to my desk and not being able to get away for 20 minutes to pick up food.

Have you never wanted to just stay home and not deal with people? I am the least lazy person, but I don't always want to drive out of my way to get food. Not all of us live within 5 miles of options. Doesn't make us lazy. I don't even have a gas station on my 8 minute commute to work. Going a mile the wrong way is annoying.

I can't stand staying inside all day. I leave for an hour most days whether I eat at my desk or not. I've become a bit of a mall walker during the summer

no one gets mcdonald's delivered

I've delivered for DoorDash, UberEats, and Postmates in the past. TONS of people get McDonald's delivered. Same with other fast food places like Wendy's and Taco Bell.
