Why?

Because the owners say so? Owners and CEOs are in business to make money, not cater to employees' wants.

Lmao at corporate CEO’s wanting their peons back daily so they can micro manage them and make them sit in a cubicle all day everyday, while they get paid millions.

Corporate slavery.

This is a slippery slope. Especially in the tech field. I’m probably a little biased, but one of the top priorities of all the people I’ve interviewed over the last year is work from home. If a company pulls all their positions back into the office, they’re going to cut off a significant chunk of the available talent pool.

Personally, I think it’s great. I run a project team and where before I’d be geographically limited, the last three people I’ve hired have been in Denver, South Africa, and New Zealand. The amount of talent available has skyrocketed.

I think people who are forced to go to the office are just jealous and want to see everyone else miserable. Certainly there are people who work just as well if not better from home.

I work from home more days than I go to the office but I stay just as busy at home. I probably dick off more in the office to be honest.

Same.

Dimons main point is all the younger employees who need years to cultivate and build networks are going to be unable to produce at levels that support Sakarya growth. I'll add they'll become unsupportable to a company right at the point they expect to be earning the most to buy a home and support a family.

That’s what evenings and weekends are for.

his is expected when you work in an office as well and the same problems with burnout exists there as well. Get a better argument. Burnout exsisted long before work from home or cell phones.

It isn’t an argument, it’s an observation after 35+ years in the workforce. People that bust it for 40,50 + hours a week do not want to take their work home, be on call, be expected to work and/or be available on weekends, holidays, and such.

Life is so short.

The old saying, when you’re on your death bead and looking at your kids, grandkids, and great grandkids (hopefully that you recognize and have fond memories of raising, spending time with, etc.), no one has said, “I wish I worked more.”
