Was it someone from BRZ that tipped him off?

Yes, Bob Shadel, he was the program director.

My Dad worked as a cameraman for WBRZ back when he was in college so who knew everyone who worked there.

He did one of the coolest things EVER!

If you watch the unedited version on my website.... GRAPHIC at the 1:04 mark...Abe changed tapes so if the cops wanted to take the video for evidence he was going to give them the tape in the camera while the tape with the shooting was in his bag...pretty heads up considering he just filmed a murder.

back then, there was the escalator up at the center of the building, and a 50-60' long, 15-20' wide hallway that was the leg of a T, with all the gates along the hallway that was the top of the T.

Going into the building, a bank of phones lined the left side of the hall and there was a travel insurance machine on the right.

I hope nobody takes that shite seriously. He signed my copy of his book with Disneyland quote.

And he played very well his senior year in the playoffs.

That’s pretty fascinating when Spain tells what the discussion in the newsroom was that night. I can’t believe it has been 38 years.

Real interesting and glad to see the integrity Spain operated with that night and after. Not sure many if any would do that these days.

Saw this on the News that night, I was 15 years old at the time. My prayers go to you and your family for having to endure all of this.

Mike Barnett will tell me the whole backstory one day. Won't matter, Mr. Plauche did the right thing. We need more like him.
