FIFY.

The supply chain works fine when the gov't doesn't frick it up.

$6 a lb a year ago isn’t necessarily shitty bacon.

There is not a supply chain problem on meat. We have some supply chain issues in other areas, which are actually working themselves out better than has been reported, but this is not an area of supply chain issue. This is butchers/meat processing realizing people are willing to pay higher prices and have been since the huge infusion of cash from government spending. It’s not going away once supply chain issues are resolved in other areas. This is a demand issue, not supply side. People are willing to pay for meat. When people stop paying prices will go back down.

I just paid $6.68 for 12ounces at Walmart Natural Choice.

But you just paid $10/pound of Wal-Mart brand bacon. That's crazy TBH.

Bacon has been in the $9-$10 per pound range where I shop for a few years now. Wright's has been around $12 per pound for that same timeframe.

I lucked out the other day. Hadn't bought bacon in so long and was out looking for chicken wings. Had to hit up 3 stores just to find chicken wings in stock, and they weren't cheap either. At the third store I turn around from where the wings were, and there was a ton of bacon in stacks. I looked at the sign above and it was $2.97 a pack. A cheap brand, but I grabbed a bunch. Now I wish I had grabbed more.

I haven't seen any $12 a pound prices, but for the good bacon, it's been a steady $9-10 per pound for a while.
