This is a game changer. Forget about the wind. The more wind the better.

We take three pasty Irish potato heads seven years and under to the beach.

Small chairs, big umbrella, couple of blankets, sand toys, and some beach games usually the paddles with the sticky ball.

Our beach has a concession so no need for ice chest

TOmmy Bahama beach cart with 2 tommy Bahamas chairs. Cool cabanas tent with big beach rug underneath Rtic soft cooler It has a deep basket where you can pack in all the kids toys. I can pack so much crap in there and only make one trip, takes about 5 minutes for me to set up/break down I’m too lazy to link to the gear or post pics... google it

I have the same setup. I can’t believe I used to bring a giant academy canopy and a hard ice chest.

For ice chests, if you don’t get the sand specific wheels, you gonna figure out why you made a horrible choice as soon as you hit the sand.

Stay as close to the beach as possible and pay for an umbrella setup.

Yep, also large backpack cooler, rather than lugging a rolling one around.

I prefer the Neso canopy, it works great and costs $100 less:

Long sleeve swim/surf shirts, board shorts. Copious amounts of most sunscreen is not healthy to be slathering on kids. 4 post tents work but they are cumbersome and don’t handle wind really well.

We beach it by boat so we can load up as much or little as we need. My youngest is 8, we are on the boat a lot, don’t use sunscreen.

That’s what I’m trying to figure out if I should get one of the blankets that the sand passes thru or not

Not really. We just use it to rest stuff on that we don't want to get too much sand on.. People end up walking all over it.

We have 2 under 6, these are the key to an easy haul (I can take everything we need and wife can focus on kids):
-Wagon with the big wheels for sand
-Backpack ice chest - I have the Ice Mule
-Chairs - smaller the better
-Umbrella - cheap ones suck, get one with the threads to get it in there securely. This one is awesome: LINK. We also added the table, hooks, and sand bags - all are very useful.
-Speaker - Small Bluetooth that can mount to stuff is fine, don’t be that person with the boom box, no one wants to listen to your music. Bose Micro Soundlink is what I’ve had a few years, hangs off the umbrella.

Other thing I always forget: trash bags, makes everything easier. Next purchase will be one of those bags you stick all the toys in and dunk in the water to clean.
