not too many places to hide on that airplane, a possibility is that when he "jumped" the sky sluts went up to the cockpit, and after landing, if they stopped or got slow enough for him to go out of the aft airstairs before approaching a congested area, he hopped out and fled
Plane was empty other than pilots and flight engineer. Runway and tarmac was covered with FBI and law enforcement, plane was surrounded and searched as soon as the wheels came to a stop.
Tests made later using a 727 and a 200 pound weigh pushed out the rear stairs produced the same change in the planes trim setting as the pilot experienced the night copper jumped
Correction, there was one flight attendant.
"At approximately 7:40 pm the 727 took off with only Cooper, pilot Scott, flight attendant Mucklow, copilot Rataczak, and flight engineer H. E. Anderson aboard. Two F-106 fighter aircraft scrambled from nearby McChord Air Force Base followed behind the airliner, one above it and one below, out of Cooper's view.[30] A Lockheed T-33 trainer, diverted from an unrelated Air National Guard mission, also shadowed the 727 until it ran low on fuel and turned back near the Oregon-California border.[31]"

By the way, it's Dan, not D.B.
This and the escape from Alcatraz in '62-ish that was said that the escapees drowed, is just PR cover-up from the Feds.
Why would the "officials" allow themselves to look bad and state otherwise?
If you have no proof they made it, just go ahead and state they didn't.

If it's the big blueish and white plane I am thinking of it has been parked there for probably 5 years. I figure it's for training or something

What if the other passengers was in on the plan.
And just said he jumped. It was a time with lot of corruption. What if he paid the passengers to lie.
What if they were his friends?
Just a theory (:

You just watching Nat Geo? That show has me almost convinced that he died. But I don't want to believe that.
Where then is his body and the money?

perhaps he threw some money out to mislead.
That would only make sense if it had radio transmitters on it. Finding money decades later does no real good and expecting them to find it within days or even months is beyond ridiculous for any geographical location, and especially that one.
quote:
I know they found some money on the shore of a Lake in Nevada
That money was purposely buried.

his contribution to aviation was the Cooper vane that was installed on 727's after that incident

Christ, you went three years back to make your first post in this thread?
Welcome to the board, Mr. Cooper.
