My family is certainly not among the most wealthy (of anything we're quite poor), but we have a certain...pull... if you will, because of generations of keeping our word no matter the hardship or circumstance.

I.E. a Judge drove 60 miles to sign my divorce papers, see that the COC filed them, all within 72 hours of our deciding to get divorced.

The two wealthy families are some of the largest land owners in the state. I don't think we now crack the top 5 in our parish

That Brad Wesley is really a POS.

Of course, he did bring the JC Penney to town.

Oil rights precede sugar and real estate.

here is no old money in Shreveport. Zip. Nada. zilch. You are either dirt poor or barely upper middle class.

Well a couple of years ago Shreveport had not one, but two ponzi schemes going at the same time to the tune of about $100 million each. So there's certainly enough money there to make it worthwhile for con men. Whether it's old money is a matter of sematics I guess.

I don’t know if it’s big money, but I’d be willing to read a book about the Edwards family in Tangi.

If you ever look at the Haynesville Shale drilling units you’ll see a lot of tracts owned by the descendants of the old money people.

In Monroe some of the names are Cage, Snellings, Shemwell. They're all related.

Don't know much about the old money in AP although there seem to be a lot of roads with Braud and Duplessis names.

Back in tha parish , it would be the Meraux and Torres money I guess.

Their son, Jerry, became a pretty successful attorney. Win some-lose some, though.

Are you a good mechanic? Maybe you can distract yourself by fixing up and modifying a Komatsu D355 bulldozer.

They hired a guy I went to high school with. He's a nice guy but not super bright. Can't be that hard to get on with them.

That’s because they all left.
