I received a telescope, BB gun, and Basset Hound all from Santa one Christmas. I think I knew the jig but I didn't give a damn.

My favorite set of toys were the GI Joe Action Team in the 70’s. I don’t remember ever getting some for Christmas (even though I sure I did). I had every figure, even the black guy. I remember to this day when and where I bought it. It was summer of 75, at the TG&Y in St Francisville. He was the last to complete my set. I had the helicopter, scuba set, tank, jeep, and other items.
I just remember destroying them as I played with them.

I found one of these at an estate sale about 13 years ago. I paid $50, sold for $500+, and the guy that bought it lived in Japan. He paid another $400 in shipping. It was missing one tiny piece, a handrail on the front.

It wasn’t the weight, it was the size. The deck came in two pieces, each being over 3’x4’ each.

Three sections (the bow plate with just the numbers) :) Still to this day I think it’s cool how they modeled the hull with the frame work and thick vinyl strip that ran the length of the ship. The elevator was always a pain in the butt to use. But the tail hook assembly for the SkyStriker was pretty neat.

The Honda minibike.
Oh wait, my parents had good sense and didn't get me one no matter how much I begged.

The Howard Griffin 1/2 price day after Christmas sale was the stuff of legends.
Every single cash gift from my aunts and uncles got spent that day. Every. Single. Penny.
It was the closest thing I got to a shopping spree as a kid. The line stretched all the way under the I-20 bridge towards the courthouse.

I managed to get my Dad to buy a PS1 because you could play CD's. PS2 because you could play DVD's. He was a computer teacher too.

A lot of great memories from Santa... GI Joe's were my favorite...
But the best is the Sega. It's because I knew how hard times where for us. Dad got disabled. The last house he built was ours and mom was a teacher. Times were tight and when I saw the Sega I was in 3rd grade but I knew how expensive it was and how long a line she had to stand in to get it. Wow man.

A Crosman air rifle that shot pellets and bbs. No telling how many times I shot that thing.
