I remember these. I seem to recall a Flintstones version at our Piggly Wiggly.

I’m almost positive this one was a Flintstone one.
Damn never thought I’d talk to someone outside of my hometown who would have heard of this machine

Earliest grocery store memory--- An african american boy in my kindergarten class, Peter, saw me at Schwegmans and started chasing me because he wanted to pet my hair. I had snow white hair and I guess he was intrigued by it. Our teacher kept him away from me at school. I guess he figured I was fair game at the grocery store.

I ran down the isle and scrambled into my mom's shopping cart and started burying myself in groceries while my mom was yelling at the kid "What are you doing? Get away!" His mother drug him away.

I wonder what Peter is doing today?

My brother telling me that smelling those products in the detergent aisle would kill me and thinking I would die that afternoon.

I remember going grocery shopping with my mama before I started going to school. Sat down in the buggy most of the time. She went to BiLo first and got everything there, she would pull her car to front of the store and this old man, Mr. Dewey, would bring them out and load them for her. Then we went down the road to Food Lion to get meat.

I was about 5 years old. I took a small roll of “smartie’s” from the candy bin at checkout and put them in my pocket. I pulled them out later and my Dad asked me where i got them from, i told him i took them from the store. 1 arse whooping later, he drove me back up there to apologize to the manager....

Going to Warehouse Foods #2 on Airline highway and getting dropped off in the kids area that had the dark theater room that was always showing Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island of the old -school projection TV.
