Depends on the time of day. I’ve taken my 4 year old to a brewery that was kind of a lunch spot too

If you're German or a snooty rich bastard, sure. Most others, not so much. You want well-mannered kids, but they're gonna be kids. Not silent robotic accessories.
The answer to the parent posters question though is "because we started caring more about our cars, Vegas trips, and Playstations than kids". Single men especially tend to be annoyed by children, to the point where you'd wonder "fricker, were you ever a child yourself?"

Leave your spawn at home if they can’t sit still and be quiet for an hour. You had them. You make the sacrifice. The rest of us shouldn’t have to listen to your ill mannered child because you cannot or will not teach them some manners and to be considerate of others. Or take them to a kid friendly dump where such behavior is to be expected. The rest of us raised our kids or didn’t have them and don’t feel like having to put up with yours. Simple as that.
Go frick yourself bud. Kids learn by being out in public. You gonna spank a 3 year old for being noisy in public to "teach them manners?"

When parents stopped being parents and started allowing their kids to behave like feral monkeys in public.

No.

nowadays. If you don’t want to be around kids and go somewhere, that’s adults only.
Right! And we’d love that. But there is always some a-hole selfish parent who insists on bringing their tyke into the adult section. And that kid never fails to start acting like a little turd. Raise your
Kids to have some manners, some respect, and some consideration for others and you might find people have more patience with both of you.
And I can assure you you, parents with small children become desensitized and unaware of how loud and obnoxious their kids are. Likely a result of being around them full time. You think Braxton running around out front is OK cause he does that shite in your home constantly. But the rest of us aren’t use to it. And it can become quite annoying.

When their parents stop training them to behave

Around the time parents wanted to be their kids friends instead of mom and dad and quit disciplining them.

The ones near me are targeting the millennials with kids
I take mine all the time. Of course, I'm not just getting smashed in the middle of the day...

Another trashy parent trying to rationalize your shitty parenting.
Leave your 3YO at home. There are very few reasons to have to tote a 3YO to a restaurant. And if he isn’t cognitively advanced enough to understand when you discipline him, then he doesn’t need to go with you. I never said you have to spank him. My father would grab my arm and squeeze
My bicep while scolding me. I got The message. And I knew to sit still and be quiet.

We lived near a brewery in Nashville that has a separate family area with its own playground

Grow a pair. That might help.

Unruly children become unruly adults. If children want to run and yell then a playground or park is the place to do it. Obnoxious children in restaurants and other public facilities is unacceptable.

kids being noisy in a hotel
This is annoying, some people sleep during the day take them outside and not let them terrorize the halls and disturb multiple guests.

Kids were much better behaved 40 years and parents made sure of it. Now parents are too busy in their phones to discipline, mentor, lead, raise their kids.
