re: Where do you see BR in 10 years? Better or worse

EBR will improve greatly with the establishment on the St George ISD. It will force EBR schools to make drastic changes and/or shrink it to fit a declining student population (which it has already started doing). You won’t see the outmigration to Livingston and Ascension that you see today- it may still happened but at a much slower pace because there will be a legit public option in BR. There is already a big new development being built on Airline across from Zaxbys that will be a center point for retail and office growth in St George, and more housing will be built in that area. Regarding BR looking like Jackson in a few years, that’s laughable. People who live in Old Goodwood, Jefferson/Bocage, Southdowns, Garden District, LSU Lakes aren’t going anywhere and that’s your tax base. I can see a split in our current form of government though, eliminating the city/parish set up. I’m actually bullish on the area now that SG is up and running.
I agree with this. EBR will improve but at the expense of BR. I don't feel like BR schools will get better hence the issues we see today will likely get worse. Most of these city kids are not being equipped with the skills necessary to build up BR and provide for themselves. The overwhelming majority that do graduate are below average in every academic metric and rarely go get a valuable trade. This will lead to more crime, government assistance, and just pure chaos. The majority of the people having children in BR shouldn't have kids.

Keep blaming the democrats, but the state consistently goes red in federal elections and tends to go red too with the state legislature and the governor.
Always looking to blame others, but not look in the mirror. Truth of the matter is we can’t separate ourselves from the results either. We suck just as much. We own all the business, have all of the power structures, make all of the laws, and still there is no progress. Just blame the democrats even though we keep winning elections
I’ve seen this play!
A majority of our business owners, doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc are not people of color. Maybe they suck arse comparatively too. You’d think they’d be good enough at convincing / attracting others (businesses, talent, etc) to come here. Nope they want nothing to do with us either.
We love finger pointing and cognitive dissonance instead of looking in the mirror. Time to own up to our part in this and stop blaming others.

St George bought BR a decade. That's about it. And no, I don't think they can turn the eventual tide.
In 25 years, you know you'll be getting closer to BR when you can the flames of the massive tire fires. There will be warlords like in Somalia walking around with hyenas on rope leashes, openly carrying AK's. Every major street (Essen, Bluebonnet, Siegen, Airline, College, Acadian) will look like Florida Blvd does now, with closed storefronts and empty lots with long grass growing out around the street curbs. There will be no cops seemingly anywhere. Every now and then you'll see a LA State Policeman but he'll be in a car that's 15 years old with mismatched rims.
Luckily you'll only be here for a little while to maybe put some flowers on your parent's graves. Then you'll get the frick out before the sun goes down.

GFY. I work, pay taxes, obey the law, maintain my home, and do no intentional harm to others. I ain't the problem. Ghetto culture, ghetto behavior, ghetto ethics, ghetto attitudes ruin everything everywhere. Aint but one group promoting and celebrating ghetto culture. They all vote the same way. They are the problem. I'll continue to blame them.

Oh sweet summer child. How naive you are.
And it’s not “people of color”. It’s “black”. You make it sound like asians and Indians are part of this group. They are not.

So they are going to ruin St. Francisville with overdevelopment, shitty planning and inbred politics like they did in Prairieville?

At the 10-year point from now, I see the state capital building’s exterior solid black with mildew. I see the 4th Mississippi River bridge finally getting built. The river center has yet to begin upgrades and renovations, and the Mall of Louisiana may now become another Amazon depot, because it’s just too unsafe there.
