I will break it down in a different way.
Girls from south Louisiana, south Mississippi, and south Alabama are all very similar.

Its Mississippi.

While aspects of Northern Louisiana share commonalities with East Texas and Arkansas Delta country, its Mississippi that most closely matches it, both south and north for geography, climate, people, and outlook.

The folkways of north Louisiana are distinct from those of South Louisiana. South Louisiana was settled from the coast in, Lake Charles to Pensacola. North Louisiana, with the exception of small settlements in Natchitoches and Fort Munro, was settled via westward migration from the Carolinas as the soil quality there was exhausted. North Louisiana wasn't much use until the Red River was cleared by Shreve.

In fairness, that's really only New Orleans, which is absolutely accurate.

I was expecting to hear more of these type of answers. The low country region in SC & GA reminds me of S Louisiana.

Doesn't seem to be much difference between North La and Southern Ar.

Shreveport, bossier, and Minden are more East Texas. North of 20 is more like Arkansas. Then there’s Ruston and Monroe doing their own thing

If there was one part of North LA that has its own uniqueness and isn’t an extension of East Tx/ North Arkansas it’s Ruston/Monroe.

If I had to guess, most people living in these two towns are Louisiana natives. Unlike Shreveport where it’s got a ton of Texas and Arkansas natives.
