So you're telling me that after you see a violent movie or video game you feel the need to act violent in real life?

I’m saying that the greater the ‘transgression’ the greater exposure could be needed but that the exposure plays a role.

Convince you to buy a stick of gum? 30 second ad
Convince you to punch someone? hours of film

And it depends on the transgression level which can be different for different people (i.e. - a very unstable person might only need 1 hour of film to punch someone)

You don’t hear this from any of the people creating these products.

Look at rap videos. Young, low iq thuglets are definitely convinced that senseless violence is a viable path via exposure to those.

Music videos haven't been relevent for over 2 decades.

A commercial nor movie can not convince me to kill someone. You know, because that is very illegal.
You don't think constantly
hearing music that glorifies violence and playing video games that are violent hasn't influenced stupid kids to adopt that image and lifestyle?

Why would you volunteer that your product targeted at teenagers and younger turn them into violent criminals, like you portend, when there is no evidence of the such

I constantly listened to 90s rap and played mortal kombat Grand, theft auto, all the 1st person shooter games, etc. ... and I was pretty frickinf stupid.

The difference is I had parents who taught me right from wrong.

People commiting crazy acts of violence don't have people teaching them right from wrong and are surrounded by real life acts of violence.

If video games influence IRL then we're gonna have an incredible surplus of carpenters in a few years thanks to Fortnite.

That's you. There are tens of millions of others who aren't as stable and for whom the lines to be crossed aren't so significant a hurdle.

The purpose of a commercial is to stick a product or service in your head such that, next time you’re making a buying decision, you think of that product.

I’m not sure how this in any way has a corollary with entertainment media, unless your argument is that people forget that violence exists as a conflict resolution strategy until media reminds them of it, which then makes them more likely to be violent.

...because they come from a bad home. It's not a hard concept to grasp. The whole "video games cause people to ve violent" theory was put to rest sometime in the early 2000s.

Why do leftist elites buy expensive coastal properties if they believe global warming will cause sea levels to rise?

I listen to alot of music. I have never wanted to experiment on different drugs, or cheat on my wife, etc.

I have played violent video games for a pretty long time. I have played GTA for years. I have never so much as been in a fist-fight with someone not my brother or cousin. I have never robbed, shot someone, got a prostitute, etc.
I have played multiple Call of Duty games. Yet I have absolutely zero desire to ever enlist in the military.

I've watched plenty of action movies. Yet you wont catch me trying to jump out of a plane, trying to jump from one moving car to another moving car, etc.

I will agree that music/movies/gaming can play an effect. But let's not overstate that effect. Their environment/role models in their lives has a MUCH larger effect than how much time playing video games.

That's you, not a dipshit 13 year old with questionable character. And, I didn't say it was the sole cause.

A few points if I may:

Dipshit 13 year olds of questionable character are going to do what dipshit 13 year olds with questionable character do regardless of what video games they play.

All 13 year olds are not dipshits of questionable character.

I've known plenty of 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's years old dipshits of questionable character in my life who did dipshit things with no influence whatsoever from video games.
