Oh, FFS. It’s your own fault you have pain in the arse rugrats, you’ve raised them to be subhuman hellions.

Damn dude, I just said they don’t like to wear sunscreen and lifejackets They also get a little bored on road trips and are loud and fight with eachother…but yeah that’s completely abnormal they must be sub human.

I too look at pictures and only remember the good times I’ve had with them, but since they are still actually young, I’m not delusional enough to say it’s all fun and games.

Congrats paw paw, that’s not exactly the age group I was referring to. Glad to hear parenting wasn’t challenging for you though, from what gather that would be a pretty unique experience

Hurry up though, we gotta get to LuLu’s before it gets packed. Spoiler alert: you’re still waiting 3 hours for mediocre food.

My kids LOVE Lulus. Definitely not my favorite thing, but watching them play in the sand, arcade, get their hair braided, while I'm drinking a beer isn't so bad.

Despise it. Nothing good about it.

My dad raised my niece after both of her parents passed away with cancer when she was 5. He took her to the redneck riviera once and every summer after that they went on "vacation" at the Howard Johnson's in Commerce, Georgia about 20 miles from their house LOL. No long car ride, get a poolside room for about $35 at the time and the pool was mostly empty all day every day. All kids want is a pool if they don't have one at home....the beach is fun for about 2 hours until they get knocked down by waves, have sand in places sand ought not be and then its playing in the pool the rest of the week. I bet they never spent more than $500 on a vacation. This was in the 90s and early 2000s. She is an adult now and does the same thing with her kids...they LOVE it!

I just checked. $63 a night LOL. For the cost of gas to go to Daytona or PCB a family can have a blast. Howard Johnson, by the way, was a genius....all of their older motels have HUGE pools. They also used all have a family style restaurant almost like those found in old drug stores....they knew how to keep young families happy. The one they stayed at in Commerce has a HUGE lagoon type pool....my niece and her kids love it LOL....

Phuket beaches, Turks, and Curicao.

I enjoy beaches outside the US so far that I’ve been to.

I dislike the panhandle experience. In the past 15 years, I’ve been twice. Both times didn’t much enjoy being there.

It's not my favorite, but we are going again this year. We have teenagers and it's hard to find anything else they want to do with their middle-aged parents.

We can just let them roam and leave them alone. The last one is a SR this year so we'll probably start doing something else most years when it's just us. It's better than being at work

If I never go to a Florida beach again in my life I won’t be upset about it.

can't even go deep in the ocean because of sharks so I just go in to pee while standing on my knees

I am not trying to be mean here, fwiw and that is funny, but why not just not be a pussy? Seriously.

You're a grown man and won't go past your knees in the ocean? There were like 35 shark attacks in the entire US in 2023 (can't fins 2024 data). But you think if you go out to waist deep for 30 seconds a shark is going to attack you? My god man.

Nothing says fun like paying for an overpriced condo, having to sweat your balls off hauling a wagon full of junk down to the beach, only to sit there for about 2-3 hours before everyone has enough sand time and goes sit by the pool. Then you have to break all the shite down, and clean the sand off after.

I learned real quick to make the kids take anything down that they want themselves and we can leave it down all day and only take it back up later in the afternoon. (You're taking too much shite to the beach). You're sweating your balls off because you are fat and unconditioned.

Lake in the mountains is far better than the beach

In the summer there ain't no comparison. Anytime you can find below 60 degree night temps in July I am in! I didn't like the mountains when I was a kid...grew up in the north Georgia mountains....but the older I get the more I like it better than the beach!

My ideal summer vacation is a house with a private pool on the intercoastal waterway with a dock and boat lift. If it has some lights on the water all the more better. Somewhere from Cape Canaveral to Port Salerno . Flipping white bait under the mangroves on the Indian or St Lucie river is addictive LOL....

I'm not the biggest beach lover, but we have been going to Seagrove, FL the past 5 years. It's a little east of Seaside, and I will say that it is the most enjoyable area in the panhandle that I've been. It's not mega crowded or trashy. There's one condo complex taller than 4 stories for miles. I can walk to a few bars and restaurants. It's mostly just upper-middle class families so I don't have to listen to shitty rap music blaring at me all day

My youngest daughter is a dental hygienist and their office has a house on Navarre that she uses every summer for her family. When the kids are grown out of it, they'll expand their horizons.

We have one out of the house and the youngest is a SR in HS. We probably don't have too many family vacations left with the kids.

My wife and I have a list of things we'd like to do but the kids wouldn't likely enjoy. Coming up to Alaska during the summer and getting out of the heat is on the list.

We had about a 5 ft bull shark swimming along the shore last year. It was in maybe knee-deep water. That thing cleared a half mile of ocean just cruising down the shore
