Why is it so hard for you to admit that the sidewalk, at least for passing, was the best, safest option and should have been used?

Why must you be all gung ho for this woman being an idiot?

Because women love to argue that any women with 2 kids should be able to do anything she wants because being a mom is impossible.

Imagine labelling a woman with a stroller jogging in a neighborhood an intruder.

I would call her retarded for running in the middle of the road with two small children.

South Eugene while technically a neighborhood street is very busy

The garden district is loaded with streets with little traffic

So that's the actual section she was using when you came down the road?

Yes. I backed up and snapped a pic after because I knew yall would try to pull some "it was probably old and broken and blah blah blah."

It's a brand new sidewalk wide and clear.

Which, by the way, how fast were you going in that area if you had to "stop and swerve"

I never said I had to swerve to miss HER.

I was driving slowly and then slowed down expecting her not to be a moron and get out the road until she did nothing, gave me a dirty look and so I came to a complete stop. Then she gave me another dirty look and jogged around me completely oblivious of any hazards that could have been coming.

I HAVE had to swerve away from many idiots who decide to do whatever they want in the road. Usually in a different area though.

And I don't even mind people jogging on the side of the road. But taking up an entire lane is egregious and dangerous

Their next argument is going to be the car should have been using the sidewalk so this entitled woman could use the road.

That's exactly what it felt like. Like she expected me to move off the road so she could maintain her current trajectory

The next perfectly good sidewalk in Baton Rouge will be the first one.

The city doesnt have to be ada compliant, but you do.

Because by all accounts, she wasn’t. She was running, she saw you coming, she moved over and you went ahead. She moved back over and continued her run. All things works as they should.

She just gave a look, that may or may not have been towards you, and you took offense and allowed a 2 sec interaction to ruin your day.

My wife and I have noticed a large % of a certain segment of the population walks in the road rather than using the sidewalk. And they aren't pushing a stroller or jogging.

Except that wasn't what happened.

She NEVER moved until she realized I wasn't going to, to her umbrage, and then made a stupid, unsafe maneuver when there was a clean, new, wide and easily accessible sidewalk just to her left.

But she's in the right here obviously

And sidewalks can be shitty.

Nah. We have perfectly fine sidewalks in our neighborhood and for some reason, even the walkers (not runners) will only walk in the middle of the road.

I don't know who was in right, but I'm pretty confident this interaction wasn't as near as dramatic as you make it.

Street View shows all kinds of fricked up spots on the sidewalks along that street. So I can see why she wasn't on the sidewalks.

By your own accounts, the street wasn't busy at the moment, it was just you and a car " a few blocks away". The speed limit is 35, so its not like traffic is high speed.

Maybe she didn't move over as quick as you wanted, but all the people acting like she was putting her kids in danger or an attention whore for running in the street are just being the usual overly dramatic pussies that infest this place these days.
