I never pictured my life without kids. It was something that I always knew I wanted

Before the first one you have doubts, then the baby is born and as soon as you hold your baby, you realize you can never love something as much as you love that little baby.

I didn't want children. I resisted as long as I could. My freedom was precious to me. But my wife wanted a family. I love her. I didn't want to be the primary reason she couldn't fulfill her vision of life. It felt intolerably petty and selfish.
Now I have a daughter. I love her desperately. She is a daily wonder. It's impossible for a decent man to ignore the beautiful call of his own blood. She is also a daily burden. Childrearing requires effort. There is no doubt I have to work harder and be more disciplined now to achieve my professional and personal goals while parenting a tiny, emergent human. I do the best I can.
There is no perfect way to live life. No absolutely right path. Some have children. Others don't. Everyone strives in their own way to be happy in a difficult universe. Time passes.

We wouldn't have to constantly remind you stupid fricks about us not wanting to have kids if y'all didn't make such a big deal about not having kids and being 34 to 40. Everyone I'm around someone they always ask when we are having kids. That shite gets annoying.
I don't have that problem because I don't have friends without kids

I was looking for some intellectual answers
i answered your question on page 1
primates that evolved into modern man who wanted kids were bred to survive and we have an innate desire to have kids due to this process

I have no male relatives within my generation with my surname until I get to FIFTH cousins. That, coupled with my legacy name, gives me a strong incentive to have a child (preferably male). However, I'll probably wait another 10 years or so and marry a 23 year old when I'm 40.

I always said I wanted kids and then had a year or so where I seriously reconsidered this stance. Even though I actually want a child now I've accepted that there are consequences for being a woman my age and waiting to have children. I pray that will not be the case for me, but am trying to be realistic and prepare myself for what happens if I missed my window of opportunity.

Not trying to be incendiary, I have never wanted kids, so the concept seems foreign.
It is a very normal and natural thing for any species to want to reproduce. Biological instinct, etc.
Beyond that, though, as a man, it is our nature to want children as part of a family unit.
Plus, in my case, I've always liked kids.
The only time this was awkward was when I was dating women with kids. I had to kinda avoid them b/s it wasn't fair to them to get too attached.

How old are you? For the record I'm 34 and my wife is 38 with no kids. I personally can't stand them little bastards. Kids annoy the shite out of me. Just this weekend I had a cousins kid that's 5 sucking on her thumb and it drove me crazy.
1st, you're parents must be proud. 2nd, I saw this older fella Christmas Day at a restaurant by himself - no kids, no wife, just him - and he looked miserable. I wondered what did he do to deserve that. What I realize now is, I saw the future for you and folks like you. I don't know you, nor care too, but I'm praying for you man.

So you're offended on your friends behalf? I hate people like you.

I'm just relaying conversations I've had with friends.
I have a gf my age that has had multiple miscarriages. She was just talking about how it was painful sometimes in social situations when people ask a simple question "when are yall having kids". She isn't mad or offended at the people asking or anything, she realizes they are just being curious. She just was talking about how sometimes others don't realize just how painful that question can be.
Just trying to point out that fertility issues in couples is more common than you may think that's all. Not trying to get all SJW on you I promise.

People try to use the idea of having tons of money to overshadow the idea they will be lonely, lifeless old people.

Does your husband want them or just doing it because of you?
