No one will know what time it actually is for a while, but it would be a small price to pay.

It'd be annoying for a week or so but we'd still do things at the same time. Number would just be different.

I mean, time zones made sense when you told time by the sun but we only still use them because people think the sun needs to be overhead at noon because that's how it's always been.

I wish, however the Louisiana law does not become effective until federally allowed which will likely be never.

Regardless of DST, they send kids to school too early. Especially HS kids.

High school was miserable for me because of this. I guess they do it because of clubs and practices after school?

If it were dark until 9 am, there would be a lot more traffic accidents in rush hour every morning. There's always the option of staying with standard time year round, but people who like it to be light until 8:30 pm in the summer would complain.

Go back to Standard Time. Same amount of daylight each day.

Regardless if standard or DST, there are only two days in a year where the length of night and day are equal, every subsequent day gets longer or shorter depending on the time of year.

F that shite.

Wife leaves at a few minutes before 8, wakes me and kisses me goodbye; I lay in bed for a bit and check emails, get up and get ready and get to the office for 9 AM.

Waking up before sunrise is for fishing or hunting.

Daylight Savings Time is important for us up north.

July 4th sunrise / sunset times for where I live (DST):

5:22 am - 9:09 pm

Imagine standard time. 4:22 am sunrise? That’s insane! If we pick one, I vote for DST.

I agree - you can’t control the sun

When it’s directly above you it’s noon - not 1 like in DST

It is not necessary. Animals don't need it. They go to bed same time based on sunlight/darkness, regardless of the time on a clock. Humans should do the same. Some idiots got in charge and made these changes. Just like closing things down for months because of COVID.

Just a reminder, we are in STANDARD time right now, which sucks.

The real question is, "why don't we permanently move to Daylight Saving time"?
