There are many reasons that are good and bad about Louisiana

Pros:

-Cheaper cost of living
-Better food in general
-One of the most lenient gun laws in the country
-Plenty of history
-Plenty of things to do if you're a hunter and/or fisherman
-Friendly people for the most part
-Plenty of industrial jobs
-Diverse wildlife

Cons:

-One of the poorest states in the country
-Lower quality of education for most of the schools
-Not as much entertainment if you're not a hunter and/or fisherman
-A sizeable black population that causes problems throughout the state
-Constant threat of hurricanes followed by flooding and tornadoes
-Corrupt politicians
-Poor roads either due to lack of funds and/or environment.
-Lack of decent public transportation

Family .
Really warm, friendly people.
The most unique culture in America.
That's all I got .
This place is a shithole.
And getting worse by the week.

I'm from Arkansas which has a reputation for being a punchline and I honestly don't hear people talk bad about it anywhere near like I hear people shite talk Louisiana on this board. I never can tell if Louisianans just whine more than most people or if the state is really that bad.

The con is that the job market isn't diverse. Not everybody wants to work shift work in a plant.

In reality this all comes down to the type of person you are.

This is an LSU board so a large majority of the individuals who post here are going to be interested in hunting/fishing etc.

To say Dallas or Houston for that matter doesn't have anything exciting is disingenuous.

I mean just thinking off the top of my head in Dallas:

Uptown Nightlife / Deep Elum
Two Zoos
Perot Art Museum
Main Event
Top Golf
Gexa Energy Pavillion has something going on every weekend it seems
NBA, NFL, MLB, MLS games
Grapevine Lake if you want to get out on the water
Ft. Worth Stockyards
Nascar
Great Wolf Lodge

Yall make it seem like Dallas is OKC or some shite lol.

Edit: Added Shops at Legacy

Bro, what about the Stars? Lol. Love some hockey. We also have a pro WNBA team, lol.

Id also add Lone Star Park horse racing

Its also cool to have two college football teams in town- TCU and SMU. Almost every week in the fall i can go see a Big 12 or AAC game.

We literally just had a WWE PPV last night @ AA and WM 32 in Jerry World.

More I think about it, Dallas and DFW area in general is polar opposite of everything BR/NOLA.

So I can see why the groups don't mesh well.

DFW has some great stuff to do but half your list sucked. Main Event...lol. BR is about to get one of those.

I was born and raised in Louisiana and I live in Allen now. All of these posters who say "just get the hell out baw" are really sad. You can't just be objective about how shitty Louisiana is? I know plenty of people that live there that can't wait to get the hell out because of crime, economy, etc...

I haven't been yet, but every time I go to Rudy's or Top Golf I am still awestruck by the sheer size of that damn stadium
