We need random drug screens and breathalyzers before we let people get on an airplane. There's no sense in making everyone put up with that dangerous situation

Before making an emergency landing and inconveniencing all of the other passengers on a flight just because of one fool. the aircraft should carry duct tape, a "shut up" sock, cop-grade zip ties, and restraining straps. They should allow the passengers the chance to hog tie the offender, and stuff his arse in one of the lavatories until landing.

Wouldve been possible if he breached cockpit. Many pilots that are trained annually carry handguns in the cockpit.

Glad to see so many dudes jump up and help. In a way, its a free opportunity to unleash a butt whoopin on someone lol

If you cause disturbances like this and are escorted off - including the “that person is not real” chick - your ID and Passport should be flagged and you should permanently lose all domestic flying privileges. That’s not. One and done rule.

Live in Baton Rouge, but you need to get to Seattle? Gas up. Take a bus or train. That, or drive to Mexico or a Canada and fly out of there. Want to take a trip to Europe? Same. Take a boat or drive to Canada or Mexico and fly out of there. You’re banned from all flights in the US.

FAMs are excellent shooters. I’ve known a handful of them and they qualify frequently with very minimal margins of error. You’d be surprised how often you’re on a flight with someone that’s armed.

A bullet traveling through the fuselage and creating a massive wind tunnel is all Hollywood.

Did he actually get to the planes cockpit or was it a stewardess' cockpit?

Firing their weapon is considered “last resort.” Things would have to be pretty far advanced for that to occur.

A 300 pound lunatic attempting the break down the cockpit door is getting shot in the back 100/100 times. No question asked.

Like I said, he’s fricking lucky.

I’ve read on the interwebs that the Air Marshal shooting qualification is the toughest there is.

Props to that flight attendant for jumping into the fray--skirt and all--to defend the passenger against a dude three times her size.

They should be able to have tranquillizes similar to an EpiPen to help folks like this sleep until arriving at their final destination.

Not sure firing off a weapon on an airplane has the same intended consequences as on land. Collateral human damage; aircraft membrane breach; are a couple that come to mind.

This is why the cockpit door is locked and essentially unbreachable during flight. What happens in the back, stays in the back.
