It's 10:1 but NAM has a 25 inch bullseye between Memphis and Nashville

It is wanting to set that main band up from West of Nashville to extreme Northern Mississippi. The bitch about it is that if you're talking about a 20" max it means you could see 8-10" in a wide area around it, plenty enough to dicker everything.

And I'm not particularly caring for how this shite sets up for my area just to the East. Hopefully, we dodge it and just get a pretty couple inches.

How long do below freezing temps stick around after the heavy stuff up there

Local forecast has us at 41° Monday and 51° on Tuesday with lows in the upper 20s. In North AL. If, though, there's enough snow on the ground I doubt we hit 41° on Monday.

It is going to be a mess with all that melting so quickly. That's the the kind of snow I hate.

I don’t have much experience tracking winter storms but I was wondering how locked in the track is at this point. With the ULL still in Canada, obviously we don’t know the exact position of things when it gets to us. But could we see a drastic shift southward or northward at this point? i. e. the heaviest snow bands setting up in central ms, al, and georgia before racing up the coast

There's room for a southward shift, but I don't think it will shift to the point of the heaviest bands making it that far South, primarily due to the progression of the system. It is almost like it would be fighting itself to get the heavier stuff that far down.

Good lord it's annoying how any time there's any kind of weather event this board acts like it's something to be despised even though it's clearly the exciting thing y'all have going on all week.

We're three miles from a US Hwy and they do salt/beet juice it, only if it's not going to rain first. In a small county with a small budget wasted money gets remembered at election time.

Huh, never heard this one before and I live in New England. What’s this about?

I'm right where the freezing rain cuts off so we might be spared. It's looking like just a lot of cold as frick rain for us which is fine by me. Like another poster said, spring could come today and I would be perfectly happy for it
