First, you should only be putting butter knives in a dishwasher and pointy side up is the best way for them to get clean if the utensil rack works like that. If you are putting steak knives in your dishwasher, the edge will go to shite pretty fast. Handwash steak knives.

Why is it that a utensil always falls out the utensil basket and you have to fish around in the bottom for it?

Literally had this conversation with the lady last night. We live separately and she loaded her dishwasher after dinner last night. Just an absolute headache watching that disaster.

I always have to reload the dishwasher when our housekeeper leaves.
It’s like she has no idea what happens inside there.
Tea pictures turned right side up to catch the water, baking sheets where they block water hitting the silverware...it’s just crazy.
