This is pretty damn cool. Max is the best driver in the wet. The drone footage is remarkable. Seeing the car slipping and how quickly he gets control back is amazing.

No music, just the sound of the car. Awesome.

I copied the video to start at Max's lap. Older video, but maybe you haven't seen it. Worth watching for sure. And worth watching again...

I know you're joking, but for those that aren't aware, the flashing tail lights are required in the wet races since visibility is low. Anyone who thinks this is how it should be on a standard road with everyday morons should be immediately hit in the head with a ball peen hammer or stabbed in the face with a soldering iron.

So, for safety purposes they use flashing lights during wet conditions to aide with visibility

I noticed that. There was a part that if it was me in Gran Turismo I'm going into the wall.

Those V-10s were badass.

For my money I would say Ayrton Senna da Silva was the best ever in wet conditions.

Of course I do. Bitch I'm from Louisiana!

We call it that boot!

But seriously, comparing visibility while driving in the rain between a passenger vehicle, with a windshield and wipers, at speeds <70mph, on a highway with hundreds of other drivers, designated lanes and multiple entry/exit points

to

visibility while driving in the rain in an F1 racecar with an open air cab is retarded. Furthermore, there's no need for turn signals in F1 racing like there is for us passenger car drivers so the hazard lights don't obstruct turn signals in a racecar.

Eta: But that drone is fuggin badass!

Yeah - he could handle a wet track. Makes sense because he's from Belgium where it rains about every 30 minutes. Same with Senna being as he grew up in Brazil where it rains a whole lot.

You can just say Senna

I thought the lights also blinked when battery was charging?

Eddie Cheever said his dad would take him out of school whenever it rained, and bring him to the racetrack to practice.

Never been a racing fan, but I happened to be in Baku during F1 week, and the company we were visiting had one of the prime spots for viewing, so we went. The sound wasn’t that loud right there, but the day before, at the practice rounds, we were right next to the track, and my gosh it was loud. A very impressive spectacle.

Saw some amazing talent that was not driving race cars.
