That's a sweet truck. Is buy that in a heartbeat.
I've been looking around for something like that but everything I've come across so far has been rust buckets or had major problems with the motor and/or transmission.

I agree the dimmer switch should still be on the floor!!!

I would rather a short wheel base personally, but yes, I absolutely would drive that. My dad had an '84 that he rebuilt, hated that thing growing up, but by the time i reached driving age, I loved it. Moved away for college and came back home and he had traded it in on a newer truck. Wish I would've know he was getting rid of it, I so would've bought it.

That truck looks great and you can't lose with an '80's GM truck or G-body car. The parts are plentiful for both stock and aftermarket performance applications.
They are easy to work on and if you take it into a shop the cost will be a lot cheaper than a present-day vehicle for the same type of repair.

Agreed. I was going to do an LS swap out in my 98 Z71. Decided to go another route. Found mine in NC. Flew up there and me and a buddy drove it back!

These were the best looking trucks GM made IMO FWIW
I had a '95 Silverado Z71 that I sold in 2004 to the meat cutter at my uncle's Piggly Wiggly. That thing turned into his pride and joy, he called it his "Sunday truck" and kept it looking sharp. I tried to buy it back from him in 2015 for not much less than he bought it from me 11 years earlier...he wouldn't part with it

My 98 Z71 has 256k miles on it. No rust. The as doesn't blow too cold and the heater doesn't work but I hate to get rid of it. My pop's is using it now as a yard truck

F Yes.
I've always said my dream truck is either a 96 Bronco Eddie with modern 5.0 or a 86 chevy crew cab Scottsdale 4x4 with an LS swap. I think I'd go with the LS swap, maybe a new trans and tires to make it a good road truck for long hauls.

I'm a man so I'd be proud to drive that truck

But why are trucks so expensive these days?!?!?!?!

No
I’d be terrified to leave my driveway in it for fear some moron would ding it. That’s a sharp truck!

Front needs a lift kit, leave the back factory height, maybe drop it a little, so it can land better when you jump it.

I don’t like the color but other than that thumbs up.

Anyone that adds fig sag to a truck like that shouldn’t be allowed to own a truck.

My father and I had someone pullout in front of us driving one of those while towing a trailer. Rolled that truck twice when it jackknifed... We both lived to tell the tale. Still remember him kicking out the front windshield so we could get out.
