I'm doing a poor job of keeping up with current racial slurs. I heard 2 new ones today, the aforementioned "banana" and "Pajeet" for Indian Hindu.

blacks discriminate among themselves and have slurs for each other based on darkness of their skin, probably second from the worst, behind being called an Uncle Tom, is "high yellow"

I don't think "high yella" is derogatory within the black community. Same for "red bone". It's simply a description of skin tone. Generally speaking, black folks discriminate against darker black folks. Maybe I'm wrong but that is my understanding.

These are definitely meant to be derogatory. Some black people will definitely run down another black person lighter skinned than them.

nah, it's a pecking order and a point of discrimination

this is also true, another of the inexplicable forms of racism that blacks have towards each other, the ghetto, tPOS type of blacks don't like the lighter blacks, and vice versa

Is it simply perception or did white people get it easy when it comes to slurs? It feels like nothing really sticks LOL

We get way more specific with ethnic and religious slurs amongst each other.

Once you know all of those, "YT" and cracker and shite don't mean much.

But also, most of us can control our emotions. The only word that's really scary to be called as a white man is "a cop" by the wrong piece of trash.

What does trigger me is when people, typically older refer to Asians as Orientals.

To me it just sounds more ignorant and outdated than insulting.

I’m not an oriental fwiw.
