Cheyenne will never be a hot spot for anything. Trust me

ETA: Jackson or Cody I could believe. Helena, MT and Billings, MT are next after Boise

Utah might be in my top 3 places to be in the states...I've been to 49/50.

The urban area is an hour and change from Moab...that is where I vacation...if you go, you'll know why.

I've never been to Utah, but I've been to the Pac NW and Colorado, and I agree the mountains are beautiful

that being said, I could never live there, because the lack of humidity makes my skin want to all die. It hurt to smile after a week in Denver

Seattle house prices are insane. SIL lives up there

Yeah, Seattle prices are rising very rapidly. The prices I've seen quoted in this thread for Nashville seem dirt cheap compared to the cost here, but it's all relative. Seattle must seem cheap compared to San Francisco

DFW area needs to slow down. Property taxes are getting to be a real bitch. I don't want to have to move to Roanoke or some shite like that if the price surge continues (though I would love the profit on my current house if I have to sell)

is it all spin off from Disney/Universal? Ive heard that there are some good golf courses nearby but what else?

Besides Disney/Universal, Orlando has:

-Great weather year-round
-Decent nightlife scene (most likely due to UCF, which has the most undergrads in the US at 54,000)
-Only an hour drive to multiple beaches.
-Also many lakes for boating and wakeboarding/waterskiing.

ETA: North edge of district 26.

That's the way to go. We've been looking recently. You can still get a decent sized house and yard in Crieve Hall and Bellevue in the $300 range. I really like Bellevue, but I wouldn't want to venture too much further past Old Hickory Blvd.

Then again, I'm almost at the point of just saying frick it and going to Williamson County. The commute would most certainly suck, but the perks seem worth it.

eta came into work this AM from near 96/46 intersection around 9am and it took 34 minutes so its not that bad.

I've got a bunch of family down there, so it would be nice having them around.
I get to work so early that I wouldn't worry about the commute into town. It would be fighting it off coming back that would suck.

At the end of a long day at work, when you wanna get home, you wanna get home....

ETA: I have a buddy who bought a badass home in Columbia, TN. It's certainly appealing, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that isolation.

I have a lot of family in Franklin, so that makes it appealing. That said, I walked on over to Vinyl Tap for a beer and to thumb through some records. I then thought about Franklin/Williamson Cty and said, "nah...not yet."

where you work downtown?

all you gotta do is get into the gulch and hit your namesake, 12th south, all the way to harding.

bonus: spring and summer eye candy.

nothing beats having to go slow through 12th south.

its the best kept secret route in the city.

The tech boom here is huge, and ramping quickly.

I think they are expecting 1 million population growth across the valley in the next 5-6 years, which is ridiculous.

Good place to be though.
