Don’t know how to link YouTube video here but just seen “Deep South Pursuits” YouTube channel has The Story Of Stickers. It’s the killers YouTube channel and story of this deer. Didn’t watch yet so I don’t know the story.

Shot it off a 33 acre plot

Glad he killed it but that was a sketchy shot to take.
I wonder how much the dogs did to get the deer down vs. his shot

You know, I have caught some shite in this thread, but go back and read it from the beginning, the only time i talked trash was when someone else started it. Was I convinced the story was 100% true from the beginning, no, did I call bullshite, no. As a property owner in the area I have nothing to gain from the story not being accurate, and lots to gain from it being true, which I hope it is, and all information is pointing to it being accurate.
and yes, i had seen shared pictures and videos of this deer last year as well
I killed a young deer this year with massive mass that several people have said could eaisly be his offspring, I am not an expert in genetics

He shot him in the arse twice

After looking at the picture again, he definitely shot it in the arse and is lucky dogs got on him.
It is somewhat surprising for a "hunting content creator" to release a video shooting a swiftly moving deer in through the brush.

That buck sure got around. I wonder who else took a shot at him during this 4 year pursuit?

I can't believe that dude made that public, unreal to take that shot.

As a person that hunts 95% public, I take whatever shot I can take. Hardly ever does a deer give you a “perfect” shot on public or while hunting in the woods.
I’ve shot them in the butt, hindquarter, neck, guts, shoulder, no man’s land, at every angle imaginable. I got fed up of passing deer waiting for that perfect shot.
I hunt to kill deer, not watch them. If I think I have an opening I’m taking it ESPECIALLY on a deer of that caliber.
I do not recommend everyone do this but if you hunt long enough sometimes you take what is given to you. Also have a scope with an illuminated red dot that helps me pick a spot on deer to shoot at. That scope has changed the game for me.

I don’t care how hard up I am, I will never intentionally gut shoot a deer.

Same. If I don't think I can kill it quick I'm not taking the shot. Putting a bad shot on one and it taking 6 hours to die is way worse than not killing one.

I am 100% identifying the animal and making sure it’s legal. Hunting in MS it has to meet antler criteria for it to be a legal buck.
I’m not shooting in bushes at sounds or just movement.

I think the dude made a good shot. A buck like that you best find a way when he shows himself.
