Look... I don't need any more stuff,
yeah that's the "problem" with this catagory for me - it's easy to justify another tool and say "meh, it's under $50 buy it" and it's rare that I get the daily feed from BladeHQ that i do NOT see something that temps me to add it to the cart.

If you didn't know this secret before...
I've won a couple of auctions for around $100. Got some cool old timers from the batches.

Currently loving magnacut steel. Give microtech and Montana Knife Company a look. They are more than $100, but no one else will have one.
I have a Kershaw Launch automatic in Magnacut, $160. Build quality is not on par with my Microtechs but it's still solid and came shaving sharp out of the box.

It is on my list, I haven't been a huge fan of the "hole" opening, but I no doubt am gonna grab one. Any model you have that you like?
Check out the Salt Series.

Kershaw Blur by Ken Onion has been my favorite cheap(er) pocket knives to carry. <$100
Any of the Spyderco H1 Salt series are a must if you fish. >$100
Benchmades are great although The Droppings bawls hate benchmade. I've always really liked them. >$100
Buck 660 is a favorite <$100
Smith's Edgesport is only like $40. Solid little knife
Outdoor Edge knives with the replacable blades are really nice. Didn't like it at first but damn I love owning one now. Solid tool to own.

I’m old school, always have carried smaller single blade Case. About $65

I'll disagree a little; the H1 steel is mediocre as a blade steel. You absolutely cannot make it rust but edge holding is pretty bad. I don't know about the H2 but their LC200 and Magnacut steel Salts are much better and worth the price differential.

Am I the only one who has an issue buying these knives because the company is owned by the CCP?
I carried a $65 Victorinox One Handed Trekker for years and it was a tank.

No. It's probably irrational but there are some things that I just don't think should come from China, and knives are one of those things. They appear to be a decent product and I don't try to talk people out of them, but they're not for me.

haven’t spent more than $40-$50 on any of them.
They are $65-70 now. I lost mine and need to get a new one but damn. I see that there are "Factory seconds / blems" available for around $50. Wondering what the quality is on those.

If you can find one with the Teflon coated blade it is the best knife tou can find for that price.

For less than $50, you get a pretty nice knife that will last nearly forever. I've lost a couple.

I'm a big fan of affordable (really $50 or less) pocket knives. One of the best deals I've found in recent years is something you'll find in Home Depot or Lowes from Crescent tools. CPK350A liner lock with a flipper-type D2 steel blade, ball bearing pivot, deep carry clip for $30. It's a heavy knife for its size, weight is back in the handle, and the smooth scales are a bit slick but they are pretty well shaped.

Best is when Spyderco puts their blems up for sale.
I bought 4 of them last year and they have been great.

That thing looks cool. I have a similar CRKT version, I am on the fence about the open sides, though, I can feel them too much in my hand to really like it, but I will definitely check this one out if I see it.

More like if you can find an old NIB M16-series without the auto-LAWKS. Self-engaging safety every time you open the knife is a pain, I hardly ever used the manual LAWKS on mine.
Speaking of CRKT, a brand I bought a lot of about 20 years ago before their quality started slipping, is this newer offering that isn't a budget knife but looks good and in a high-end steel:
CRKT Redemption

Dude you’ve got to get a Spyderco.
Was about to say the same thing. That hole may not look like you want it to, but once you actually use it, you'll never want anything else. The ergonomics of the spyderco knives is unparalleled IMHO. I've been carrying one ever day since around 1990. Lots of Enduras. PM2s PM3 etc. Right now my main carry knife is a Native Chief.
Everything about the Spyderco's is thought out and intentional. They're going to probably be outside your $100 cutoff but they're actually worth it. Honestly, I doubt there's a better EDC pocket knife than the Shaman. If you ever get to hold one you'll understand immediately.

Not if it’s a quality product and not a knockoff. This is a legit blade company, but to each their own and I get it.
