Anyone build fence lately? Looking for an estimated total cost on a square 15 acre (3550 feet) pasture to fence in. 4 strand barbed wire with t-posts.
Wanted to hear from yall before I go to the co-op for pricing.
I'm thinking $20,000 for materials and a few hands to help install.

Not sure if it was 4 or 5 strand but I priced out two years ago for roughly 8 cents per LF. I did electric for 6.2 cents a LF.

Not including labor costs

My son and I just did 900 ft of 3 wire to mark a property line at our house. Each roll is ~1300 ft. I bought 90 posts , set them myself , and ran the wire. It’s not that bad if you have the time and the tools . Don’t forget add in corners etc

Thats probably about right. 5 strand barbed wire build correctly used to run about $10k / mile. That number has increased considerably over the last 8-10 years and I'd guess you are about right, maybe a little high.

Bored during CE and I just did this for myself, so here’s my calculation using TSC pricing (because it’s easy to find online…co-op will likely be 10-15% higher)

Barb Wire
3550 x 5 (or 4 if running 4 strand) = 17750’ of barb wire
14 rolls of 1320’ barb wire
Depending on quality/thickness, somewhere between $70 and $140/roll
14 x $70 = $980
or
14 x $140 = $1960

T-Posts
3550 / 10 (or 8 or 12 depending on how far you want them spaced) = 355
355 x $6 (6.5’) = $2130

16 6” Wood Posts for corners and gates (assuming 2) x $25 = $400

8 4.5” posts for braces
8 x $11 = $88

$120 in fence clips

12 bags of quick crete for corner posts $84

$2130 + $400 + $88 + $120 + $84 = $2822 + $1960 = $4782 (or $3802 if you go with cheaper wire).

Add in $200-400 per gate and a lot more if you need a post hole driver, auger/tractor for wood posts, and fence pliers.

There will be more variables like if you want to add more wood posts in the middle for stretching and if you want to use iron posts for the corners, but this should get you close.

Awesome breakdown. Easy to see you’ve built a fence or three.

12-1/2 Ga wire. Drive your rounds if possible. Rounds for corners, gates, and H brace. Slickback did good

perfect breakdown.
I have a PTO auger for the tractor so that'll help.
Not as bad as I thought. It'll be along a highway so probably will do 5 strand with 2 gates.
