You’re comparing the greatest tactical shotgun of all time with a Walmart $350 pump
Of course it’s better in every single way. You have to decide for yourself if it’s worth the price increase, especially since it won’t be a “working gun” for you where you’re putting it through the ringer during duck/dove season
More apt comparison would be a Nova/Supernova vs 870, which Benelli wins easily as well. Remington is trash now

Truth.
There's absolutely no good reason to tie yourself to that shite show of an arms manufacturer at the moment.

I’ve had a Super Nova for several years and used it for duck, squirrel, skeet and it will definitely work for home defense.
I have one too and it is a beast! It will shuck anything, shot, buck, slugs, 2.75", 3", 3.5". BUT, it is bulky and heavy.
I'm really thinking the NOVA 20 GA. would be nicer to carry in the field.

I have an 870 that I bought in 1990 for less than $200. I have run more shells through that beast than I can even count. I have never had one issue with it. It is a helluva gun.

Anybody put their hands on the latest gen 870 yet?

Thanks for all the feedback. That Super Nova looks like it might be the perfect fit.

Wouldn't regular old buck do the trick?

Find an old 870 unless you insist on new.
I have a 2000ish supermag that has been used and abused like no other and keeps on going.

So I purchased the shotgun, had it delivered to my FFL - background check came back delayed
I’ve never had that problem before - apparently there is a huge backlog because so many firearm purchases are occurring - thanks Biden

Got a 20 gauge “for the Mrs” in 2017
You shoot duck loads out of it and I bet she will divorce you. Damn gun kicks like a rented plow mule. I got one for my son and he hated it and he was a big kid. It became my home defense gun by default. It stays in my go to place in my house if the SHTF and is loaded with 00 Buckshot.
