Can tell you for sure that now having spent a lot of time running two different corded bubba fillet knives, they heat up and can burn the hell out of your palm with a flow of hot air when its running.

lately. The ergonomics of it seem off and they make it hard to hold the trigger down.
I use it though, that is how much I hate cords. And the battery life is great.

Sorry for newb question. Are filet knife blades generally universal, or specific to brands?

Not sure about all but most of common brands (mister twister, AA, bubba, maybe rapala?)are universal.
