You can’t catch them from home however, if I were going saltwater this week I don’t think it would be grand isle. West wind is projected to start kicking up. West wind is the worst for Grand Isle.

Well I’m back this morning to be humbled a little. Yesterday it was 2 man limit at 6:56am. Today we fished until 10 and only caught 15.
Seems to be the pattern this year. Bust em one day and shite the next. Not much consistency.

oh I’m going somewhere. Was just trying to figure out where. I’m normally a Big Lake/Lake Sabine guy, but was looking for something on the east side of the state

I wish we could hit them like that.

Me and a buddy are thinking about going down Thursday but I told him it's been 20yrs since I fishing Grand isle and I wouldn't know where to begin looking for trout there.

West wind is whipping. We opted out of fighting the crowd this morning, some of the top guides that run out of Bridge Side said they were on the struggle bus this morning. Have to believe the folks that went offshore got their asses kicked, have watched a bunch of boat/dock encounters already.

We ended up in Hopedale today. Might still hit the island Saturday.

Because of the wind
The trout are there when the water is clean and the wind isn’t stirring it all up

I limited out on Friday the 11th. Live shrimp on Elmer’s island at first light. Bite was over by 8:00 am.

What'd you end up with and how far out? We're hauling a big boat down to the island in a couple weeks and going to wing it.
